III. Questionnaire
Please address each of the following questions in your response, in addition to the other information requested in Section V of the notice.
1. Experience with Medicare Claims Processing
a. Please describe your experience in adjudicating Medicare Part A and Part B format claims.
b. Provide details on the daily and total volumes and dollar value of claims processed if applicable.
c. Describe the claims processing software you would utilize in adjudicating Medicare
Part A and Part B claims.
d. Are you comfortable with the requirement to update and test your claims processing software within any changes in Medicare guidelines or reimbursement rates within 30 days?
e. Since ASPR cannot predict the scale and thus the number of Medicare format claims to be processed after a specified public health emergency, please describe how you would plan to scale from a minimum of 1,000 claims processed to a maximum of
100,000 claims processed.
2. Experience with Medicaid Claims Processing
a. Please describe your experience in adjudicating Medicaid format claims and indicate which State(s) were involved.
b. Provide details on the daily and total volumes and dollar value of claims processed if applicable.
c. Describe the claims processing software you would utilize in adjudicating Medicaid format claims.
d. Are you comfortable with the requirement to adjudicate Medicaid format claims potentially for multiple states (bear in mind that the expected volume of Medicaid format claims is relatively small compared to Medicare format claims)?
e. Since ASPR cannot predict which States may be impacted in a public health emergency and the volume of Medicaid format claims to be received, is it a reasonable expectation for a Contractor to be able to adjudicate Medicaid format claims from providers in multiple states using a claims processing system?
3. Payment Processing
a. What concerns would you have about the requirement to reimburse providers first and then seeking reimbursement from ASPR?
b. Since there will be some time delay between the time the Contractor issues payment to a provider and the time the Contractor receives reimbursement from ASPR, what is your estimated maximum amount of payments that your firm would be comfortable in making before reimbursement is received from ASPR?
