Section of RFP Question Answer

Scope of Work

Area E, F , G, and H between the two warehouses:

There are downspouts, drainage, power, etc.

terminating below grade or at grade from both sides. Can these blocked out 6" around and left intact as is?

GC may block around.

Scope of Work Can the ware house bays be used for concrete truck delivery? This will avoid the costs of pump trucks as it appears the bay doors will cover distance for truck chutes.

Yes, bays can be used.

Scope of Work Please clarify termination points for areas A &

H. The drawings have to the end of the warehouse; however, there is a fence approximately 3' from warehouse plan N end.

Place concrete formwork outside of fence line posts.

Scope of Work If the fence is to be removed and replaced, will

NASCC do this or will this be the responsibility of the contractor? If the fence is removed, how is the remaining area to be secured? Please confirm the required scope of work for this area.

Fence removal not required.

Scope of Work Area E manhole: Is the concrete around the manhole to be left intact?

Yes, slope new concrete as exiting asphalt slope.

Scope of Work Area E A/C unit: Is the existing A/C unit to be removed and replaced by NASCC? If it is for the GC to schedule, is it under a warranty? Who is the installer/maintenance company?

No it will not be removed and replaced by NASCC. It will be the GC to provide this action.

Unit is not under warranty.

General

There are a lot of government owned items stored around the building that are in the way of getting the demo and concrete work done. Will the Customer have these items removed prior to the start of construction activities or will

Contractor be responsible for storing/relocating items?

ALL OF THE MATERIAL

WILL BE MOVED FOR

ACCESS TO ALL AREAS.

General

The space between Bldg. 11 and Bldg. 1869 is tight (13’). The north end has a fence with a man-gate. A truck would have to back up parallel to the fence at the north end for loading.

FENCING CAN BE

REMOVED FROM

BEGINNING TO END OF

PROJECT.

N6945021Q0021

The issue is possible damage to the fence if not removed first. Can the fencing be removed with only the posts remaining while excavation and concrete placement activities take place? If allowed, would fencing need to be replaced/secured at the end of each day?

General

The south end is open but has an A/C unit next to Bldg. 11 (pad to be replaced by GC per RFQ).

This unit will need to be removed to avoid damage during demolition of the existing asphalt, A/C pad, and bollards. How long can the

A/C be down to the area being serviced by that unit? Would Contractor be responsible for temporary cooling while unit is out of service?

A/C UNIT CAN BE

REMOVED FOR THE

DURATION OF THE

PROJECT.

General

There is a breezeway in the middle of Bldg.

1869 with a high enough roof opening to get equipment and a truck backed in. The issue is loading out of spoils. Loading out the center section between the buildings would require traveling to each end or possibly backing a truck into the breezeway to allow loading. The questions related to this are:

10.a

General

A. Since there are two manholes at the entrance of the breezeway, please confirm that the manholes/underground vault is traffic rated to support the weight of the dump trucks?

Government cannot confirm traffic rating.

10.b

General

B. Will this interrupt the operations of the building by bringing a truck into that area? Is

Contractor held to special hours or weekend work for this activity?

COORDINATION WITH

CUSTOMER WOULD HAVE

TO BE PERFORMED. NO

PROBLEMS ARE FORESEEN.
