About this file

This is a Questions & Answers document addressing inquiries from contractors regarding multiple federal contract work items.

The document provides clarifications across five distinct work item codes. For item 123-11-001, which involves crack repair work, the government specifies that the crack measures 8 inches long by 1/64th inch wide on a 0.375 inch thick steel plate. FDRMC Divers will provide and install the cofferdam, with the contractor responsible only for crane support for waterborne installation. Polysulfide sealant must be purchased in quantities sufficient to cover 2 square feet plus 20% wastage. Drilling at the crack endpoint may be inhibited due to Fire Main pipe interference. For item 256-61-001, gaskets must be Garlock Blue Guard, model 3200, in 1/16th inch thickness. Item 508-11-001 addresses work access requirements, confirming that ladders may be necessary in some locations and specifying that the largest diameter pipe involved is 8 inches (approximately 25 inches circumference). Item 521-21-001 concerns motor installation work, requiring alignment in accordance with paragraph 3.2.7 of the work specifications and noting the motor weighs approximately 2,200 pounds.
