About this file

This document is a Specifications for Work to Be Accomplished (SSP NAPL-033-26) for the USS Oscar Austin (DDG 79), a Navy destroyer ship operated by the Department of the Navy's Fleet Readiness Center (FDRMC) in Naples. The specification covers FY-26 standard items and five specific maintenance and repair tasks: (1) bilge crack temporary repair in the Generator Room involving cofferdam installation, magnetic particle inspection, and polysulfide patching; (2) seawater service butterfly valve replacement (SW-V-213) in Engine Room Number One; (3) lagging and insulation replacement across nine ship compartments totaling approximately 741 square feet of ventilation insulation and 310 linear feet of pipe insulation; (4) No. 2 fire pump motor replacement in Auxiliary Machinery Room Number One, including alignment verification and operational testing; and (5) AFFF system hycheck valve replacement in AFFF Station Number One. All work items require crane and rigging services with certified equipment, visual inspections with Navy supervisors, compartment closeout procedures, and joint inspections with the ship's Commanding Officer upon completion.

The specification incorporates NAVSEA standard items (FY26 CH-1) covering general criteria, environmental compliance, confined space entry, fire protection, asbestos control, quality management, safety and health procedures, and various operational and technical requirements. Government-furnished materials are minimal, with primary items provided being the butterfly valve and fire pump motor. Work must comply with referenced technical manuals, Navy standards, MIL-STD specifications, and ship-specific diagrams. The document includes detailed requirements for work authorization, compartment closeout certifications, and adherence to naval safety and operational standards, with no specific award or response dates stated in this specification document.
