RFP N6817118R0007

Questions and Answers 01

Questions received from vendors.

1. Question: Is the provision of SIM cards required for BlackBerry service?

Response: No.

1a. Question: Is the BES server managed internally by US Navy?

Response: Yes.

1b. Question: Is this BES 12?

Response: Yes.

1c. Question: Does the US Navy already have the individual end-user "CAL" licenses for BES/BlackBerry? If not, should we provide pricing for the CAL licenses?

Response: The US Navy obtains their own licenses; this will not be required for the contract.

2. Question: Are site visits required to verify indoor signal coverage? If indoor signal coverage is found to be low, can this be addressed by installing mini repeaters (signal amplifiers) where necessary?

Response: Amendment 0002 is issued to allow offerors to visit the locations, but verifying indoor signal coverage will not be required. Equipment to address low signal coverage is referenced in Section C, Section L, and Section M.

3. Question: For data-only plans, how many SIMs and what kind of plans are required? Can the proposal include a separate list of all standard data-only plans (with prices) available, which some or all can later be selected and added to the Exhibit A – Group Plans and Prices?

Response: ‘Attachment 2 – Historical Usage’ is included in the RFP for offerors to consider in creating their proposal. A proposal must include ‘Exhibit A – Group Plans and Prices’ with all plans offered; no plans will be selected and added to Exhibit A after a proposal is received.
