About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) excerpt from a federal contract solicitation regarding crane lifting services. The government clarified four key requirements in response to contractor inquiries.
Regarding equipment specifications, contractors may use any crane type—whether a 100-ton all terrain crane, a Broderson carry deck crane, or both—provided it can operate within the building, meet height restrictions, and safely lift the items specified in the Statement of Work. For personnel, the contractor must furnish the minimum number of certified riggers and/or signalmen as listed in the SOW; the government will not provide these personnel. Contractors should identify any additional support equipment deemed necessary to safely execute the lifts in their bid proposal, though no additional support equipment is expected to be required beyond the specified crane and certified operator. Finally, crew composition requirements are limited to those explicitly stated in the SOW; contractors need not include any additional crew specifications in their pricing unless outlined in that document.
