About this file

This document consists of questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for crane and operator rental services. The key details are:

The solicitation, N6247824Q2688, is seeking a contractor to provide a crane and certified crane operator to support lifting operations during RIMPAC 2024. The crane must not exceed a single axle load weight of 22,650 lbs due to pier loading restrictions, and the maximum lift weight is 4,000 lbs. The contractor shall provide all materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, freight, and labor to support the government. NAVFAC HI Crane and Rigging shops will provide a work leader and rigger/signalman for rigging and sending loads. The Q&A clarifies that only one certified crane operator is required, as the primary lifts will be for ship/submarine brows, shore power cables, and possible small palletized loads.

5-21-24 N62478-24-Q-2688 Question and Answers 2

Question: “Will you require the CCEP for every lift / ship / sub? or Just 1 only for worse case, ie. 4,000 lbs at Maximum 70’ boom and 40’ radius. & does the 4,000 lbs include any rigging?”

Answer: "NAVFAC has rigging for the brows. 4,000 lbs would be the worst case. Primarily lifts are brows and shore power cables and possible small loads of pallets or parts.

One CCEP will do because we don’t know which pier, ship or sub be first."
