AMENDMENT 0007 – DATED 06 DECEMBER 2018

Contract: N62473-18-R-2242 CS/Phone: Christopher Rosario 619-532-3221 Solicitation Date: 26 October 2018 Subject: DESIGN-BID-BUILD MCON PROJECT KC-46A AIRCRAFT 3-BAY

MAINTENANCE HANGAR, TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, CALIFORNIA

This is an amendment to subject solicitation:

A. The following are responses to RFIs:

Question 73: SHOP EQUIP, I-110, I-111-Please confirm that all shop equipment on the schedule is government furnished Answer 73: Confirmed

Question 74: FALL PROTECTION, S-141,143-Please confirm that the W12x45 (Shown on S-141 through S-143) located above the vertical stabilizer that supports the rails above the horizontal stabilizers is not intended to have fall protection trolleys but rather is strictly to support the connecting horizontal stabilizer rails

Answer 74: The W12x45 beam located above the vertical stabilizer provides coverage for the rear portion of the fuselage in front of the vertical stabilizer and is intended to have fall protection trollies.C3 and C4/S-546 illustrate coping for the horizontal stabilizer beams that frame into the W12x45 which allows the trolley to bypass the horizontal stabilizer beams.

Question 75: METAL LOCKERS, A-401,403-Please confirm attachment method with seismic calculations is not required for metal locker installation.

Answer 75: Specification 13 48 00 1.2.2 lists storage cabinets as requiring seismic bracing. Lockers are intended to be considered a type of storage cabinet.

Question 76: METAL LOCKERS, A-401,404-Please provide locker manufacturer requirements if there are any.

Answer 76: Reference specification 10 51 13 for locker requirements. No basis of design manufacturer is identified.

Question 77: MONORAIL, 412223.19-2.9, S-591-Spec section allows patented monorail track, drawings show enclosed track system. Please confirm patented rail is acceptable.

Answer 77: Provided the joist hanger loads for the monorail are satisfied/coordinated, either system is acceptable.

See note 13/S-521 regarding monorail support point load coordination with joists.

Question 78: CRASH GATE, B1/CS507-Subcontractors are having issues getting a quote for the steel gate that large with 3 stanchions and the infills that are called for. It will be entirely too heavy. There are aluminum K4 rated crash gate with 2 stanchions with the required infill that they have installed at many NOSC’s, AFB’s and other military sites. These gates outlast and outperform the metal gates. Can this type of gate be used on this project?

Answer 78: Aluminum material is acceptable as long as gate model/manufacturer are on the approved DoD/DOE list for the clear opening indicated and crash rated per drawings and specification requirements. Color and style to match the current base gates.

Question 79: LOW PROFILE BARRICADES, (A3/GC501)-Subcontractors/suppliers are stating that the barricade detail is out of date and the FAA has newer guidelines. OTW lights are solar powered with a battery, not solely battery powered which is the industry standard and FAA accepted. You also won’t need sandbags since the barricades are able to be ballasted and filled with water instead. Please advise.

Answer 79: FAA approved low profile barricades are acceptable.

Question 80: CONTAINMENT TANK, A2/CU510- Please confirm if the hazardous waste collection tank only needs to meet Federal EPA standards or does it also need to meet California State Water Resources Control Board Standards. If it is to meet state standards will that also include the collection points and influent piping?

Answer 80: Tank is an emergency only spill containment tank not for storage of any liquid. Tank has liquid level sensor at bottom and is tied to fire alarm system if any liquid is present. Base Fire dept response required for potential fuel leak/spill.

Question 81: HORIZONTAL WELLS, CU513,CU514, CU120-Subcontractors are requesting geotechnical information regarding the cemented silt stone.

Answer 81: There is nothing in the drawings or Geotech with reference to “Cemented Silt Stone” that we were able to locate. In reference to the material that refers to “Silt Stone”. All information that is known is provided in the bid documents and nothing further is within the Geotechnical Report to provide.

Question 82: WELLS, CD120-Note 6 indicated the well work will be by the base environmental contractor. Please clarify the work of base environmental contractor and the work by this contract.

Answer 82: The five vertical borings and design of the replacement extraction well described in Note 6 on CU120 were performed by Burns & McDonnell and the well design is presented on Drawing 513. The Base Environmental Contractor is preparing a Work Plan for approval by USEPA and the California Water Board prior to the relocation of the horizontal extraction well and installation of new monitoring wells.
