About this file

This document contains three appendices related to an existing bridge crane. Appendix A provides technical details on Crane 124-3 including dimensions, clearances, and load specifications. It also includes drawings of the crane and existing runway configuration. Appendix A indicates the crane has a 2-ton capacity and is an under-running, under-hung style. It specifies the rail size and maximum allowable wheel and support point loads for the under-running runway. Appendix A also provides the voltage, amperage, and phase details for the existing crane electrification system. Appendix A-1 sheets 1 through 3 include dimensioned drawings of the crane, obstructions, and existing runway support locations.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity multiple award contract to provide new and overhaul existing weight handling equipment for the Navy, Marine Corps and other federal activities. The contract has a 100% small business set-aside. The WHEMAC will be used to procure new equipment and overhaul existing equipment with capacities up to 30 tons and bridge and gantry crane spans up to 60 feet. The work includes site surveys, design, fabrication, demolition, installation, testing and training. Cranes must meet specified standards and be certifiable for applications including hazardous materials and ordnance handling.
