1. SCOPE:

1.1 Title: General Requirements for Work on Aircraft Carriers;

accomplish

1.4 Security Classification of Equipment, Components, Spaces, and Documents: Contractors and subcontractors are subject to the applicable provisions of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, DOD 5220.22-M (0584-LP-179-6400) for access to NNPI or other classified spaces.

2. REFERENCES:

2.1 None

3. REQUIREMENTS:

3.1 The following requirements shall be observed, in addition to the specific requirements of the Job Order, for work accomplished on Naval Aircraft Carriers located at Naval Station Norfolk.

3.2 Contractor personnel requiring access aboard ship shall attend training to ensure familiarization with posted, verbal and written radiological control instructions (to include, do not enter any area or space posted with a sign that has a magenta colored radiation symbol on a yellow background; do not touch any yellow bands, tools, bags, wrappings, clothing).

3.2.1 Contact SF/Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) via the

SUPERVISOR to arrange for the training. Training may be provided by the Commanding Officer's designated representative of either the ship or RMC.

3.2.2 Submit one legible copy, in hard copy or approved

transferrable media, of a completed list of personnel trained by SF/RMC to the SUPERVISOR. The list is due prior to commencement of work aboard the ship, and shall be signed by SF/RMC. Submit updates to the list each time personnel are added and trained.

3.3 Contractors and their subcontractors shall comply with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)(DoD 5220.22M) for verification of all U.S. citizens.

3.3.1 Requests for access by non-U.S. citizens will be coordinated with Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC)(Code 1110) and

RMC/SF.

3.3.2 Establish procedures to comply with 3.3, 3.3.1, and the requirements of NAVSEAINST 5500.3A (Control of Access to Vessels by Non-US Citizens).
