About this file
This document contains a government response to an offeror question and details of a related federal contract opportunity. The government response confirms that while the Item Unique Identification and Valuation clause is included, it does not specifically require item identification for certain contract line items for maintenance, repair, and preservation services on a large harbor tug. The federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Naval Supply Systems Command to award a firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance, repair, and preservation of YT-803 from September 2022 through January 2023 at the contractor's facility, including drydocking, hull work, inspections, repairs to electrical, electronic, mechanical, plumbing and propulsion systems, and undocking services. The award will be made in August 2022 to the responsible contractor with the lowest price and technically acceptable proposal.

Government Response to RFC 005
5) Question: DFARS 252.211-7003, Item Identification and Valuation, is not applicable for this vessel and CLIN 0001AA and CLIN0001AB should be omitted. Please confirm.
Response:
The Item Unique Identification and Valuation clause, DFARS 252.211-7003, is required to be included in accordance with the prescription listed under DFARS 211.274-6(a)(1).
However, the clause does not specifically list/enforce the Item Unique Identification and Valuation requirements for CLIN 0001AA and CLIN 0001AB.
