N4523A20Q5711 Questions 4
1. What is meant by “Inside a ship”?
By “INSIDE A SHIP”, the display will be in a location that will not be subjected to direct/prolonged exposure to outboard environmental conditions unless specified within the PWS such as the temperature and humidity requirements.
The Government is aware that the requirements that are common in many military applications have not been included within the specific tasks in the PWS. For the application that we intend to use the display, the requirements listed on the PWS are the only requirements that are required from the contractor.
2. To assist both the contractor and Government would the Government agree to say COMPLIANCE with ipc standards where appropriate for the construction of the displays?
We concur to your suggestion on certificate requirements. During the construction of the display, we will require compliance to IPC standards where applicable instead of requiring all relevant industry certifications associated with building the display.
