Text version
1. Would Puget Sound Shipyard consider a remote-delivery platform for services (specifically Video Remote Interpreting and/or Remote CART Services) under this contract, both for cost savings and scheduling/emergency convenience?
A: The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) requires only in person interpreter services. Current security requirements will not support Video Remote Interpreting and/or Remote CART Services in multiple areas of PSNS & IMF that would need interpreter services.
2. Does the Shipyard have any experience with either of those remote-delivery platforms for deaf or hard-of-hearing persons?
A: PSNS & IMF only has experience with in person interpreter services.
3. Would PSNS & IMF consider a demonstration of either or both platforms prior to making a decision in this matter?
A: PSNS & IMF does not believe a demonstration of either or both platforms will be necessary. Current security requirements for electronic devices would not allow electronic devices that support Video Remote Interpreter and/or Remote CART Services.
