About this file

This is Amendment 0003 to Solicitation N40085-26-R-9073 for FC444 Aluminum Sulfate Tank Repairs, issued by NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic on August 25, 2026. The amendment addresses vendor questions regarding the specifications for 11,000-gallon fiberglass tanks and provides detailed technical clarifications.

The amendment specifies that each tank shall have a usable capacity of 10,575 gallons with a flat bottom and an ASME Flanged and Dished Head (5/16-inches thick). The tank internal diameter is 12'-0" with a straight shell height of 13'-0". Nozzles and fittings must be drilled to ANSI Standard B16.5 for 150# drilling with a thickness rating of 25 psi. Each tank requires four hold-down lugs, two lifting lugs, one reverse level float system, one 2" flanged nozzle with ball valve for drain, two 2" flanged nozzles for tank discharge and return (with blind flange for one tank only), two 3" flanged nozzles for tank fill and vent connection, one 24" manway with flat cover, and one 6" flanged nozzle with blind flange for ultrasonic level monitoring. The design temperature range is ambient conditions (-17°C to 40°C), with design pressure of +0.5 oz/in² / -2.0 oz/in². The tanks will hold 48.0% aluminum sulfate solution (specific gravity 1.300 to 1.345) and will be located outside the building, uncovered. The deadline for receipt of proposals remains unchanged, and offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment with their proposal submissions.
