About this file

This document is Amendment 0002 to Solicitation N4008524R2620 issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command. The purpose of this amendment is to provide responses to pre-proposal inquiries (PPIs) related to the replacement of the fire alarm system in Building 536, a Bachelors Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The key details include: confirmation that original building drawings from 1981 are available, clarification that the mechanical and electrical rooms are not conditioned spaces, confirmation that the first-floor toilets are listed as handicapped-accessible but are currently locked due to flooding, allowance to reuse existing conduit if it complies with UFC 3-600-01, requirement for LED textual notification devices in all interior spaces, and the need for transient voltage surge suppression for conduit connecting the facility wings. The amendment also provides guidance on the Fire Protection Designer of Record requirements and directs offerors to the original building drawings for details on HVAC systems, duct smoke detectors, and fuel-burning equipment.
