1 Matthew, will QC and SSHO people be permitted to perform electrical work as time allows or are they strictly there for quality control and safety?

15‐Mar No, QC and SSHO will not be permitted to perform electrical work.

2 Mr. Thomsen: I am the estimator for BUSSCO, Inc. on the referenced project and have a question regarding the existing cables being removed. Where on the drawings is it designated which cables being removed are lead sheathed to be cut up, deposited into government furnished drums and brought to Building 357 for disposal by the government or non lead sheathed cables to be disposed by the contractor?

20‐Mar The Man Hole Study butterfly diagram drawings E611‐E650 state in "Description" column the type of cable and if it is lead.

Refer to conductor pathway diagrams E605‐610, determine the MH path and reference butterfly diagrams to determine if will be dealing with lead conductors.

3/26/2018 via Amendment

3 Solicitation Page 4 of 52. Bid Option:

Wording in description indicates to replace "conduit". Should this be "conductors" in lieu of conduit?

21‐Mar Yes 3/26/2018

4 Sheet 14 has been Red‐Lined out of the contract for this project. However, the LC‐4 Grounding Schedule on Sheet 11 has this included as one of the active breakers receiving new conductors.

Should circuit 24 be eliminated from this schedule or the conductors for circuit 24 to be replaced remain in project?

21‐Mar Circuits LC4‐24 (B76S/14) shall be eliminated from this schedule. These conductors pass through the failed duct bank AC801 (LC4) ‐ AC701. This scope has been removed from project.

3/26/2018 via Amendment

5 The ninth line down in the LC4 Grounding Schedule on Sheet 11 labels the circuit as "24. Should this be labeled as "26" in lieu of "24"?

21‐Mar Schedule Line 9 should read LC4‐26 in lieu of LC4‐24.

3/26/2018 via Amendment

6 The LC4 Grounding Schedule on Sheet 11 indicates the circuits which are to receive new conductors. Sheets 13‐18 show the Conductor Pathways for all circuits except for Circuits 17, 29 & 30.

Can Conductor Pathway One‐Line Diagrams including the Demo and New Work Keynotes be provided for these three circuits?

21‐Mar Not necessary for following reason (see drawing E602, Sheet 10):

a. LC4‐17 is now spare. B62 was served from this circuit but re‐located to panel

PP7.

b. LC4‐29 feeds panel PP7 (located at LC4/

AC801)

c. LC4‐30 feeds B45. Overlooked in design package by error, conductors pass through failed duct bank. All duct bank conductors will be changed in future project, eliminated from this project.

d. Qty (2) exterior 480V distribution panels (PP2, 7) feeder conductors are replaced in this project. Contract does not replace sub‐circuit conductors from panels.

7 Existing conductors are to be removed from existing manholes and new conductors are to be pulled through these same manholes. What is the requirement for new or renovated cable racks and arms or is the contractor to reuse the existing racks and arms? If new or renovated racks and arms are required can this be quantified?

21‐Mar Contractor shall carry cost of replacement of deteriorated racks with non‐metallic racks per Specification 33 71 02 3.5.4

CABLE RACKS, ARMS AND INSULATORS.

Contractor shall plan for qty (4) manholes having all racks within manhole replaced.

3/26/2018

8 The specifications indicate the new conductors are to be fire wrapped in the manholes. Are the circuits to be wrapped as one overall wrapping of the conductors as a circuit or is each conductor to be wrapped individually? If conductors are to be individually wrapped is an overall wrapping of the circuit conductors also required?

21‐Mar Per Specification section 33 71 02 3.13, all conductors under this contract are 600V and less (low voltage). No fireproofing required.

3/26/2018 via Amendment

9 Drawing E603 has an LC4 Grounding Schedule indicating the minimum size of grounding conductor per circuit per NFPA 70 NEC2017 Article 250, Table

250.122. Note 1 under "New Work

Keynotes" on the same drawing indicates to install grounding conductors per the table. In the "New Work Keynotes" for each of the One Line Diagrams, it is called out to install #1/0 ground conductors. Some of the sizes for ground conductors in the table on Drawing E603 are different than #1/0. Is the contractor to install #1/0 ground conductors for all circuits or is the contractor to install ground conductors sized in accordance with the table on Drawing E603?

21‐Mar New Work Keynotes stating #1/0 equipment grounding conductors (EGC) for each One–Line Diagram sheet was incorrect in some cases. Contractor to provide EGC’s according to table “LC4 GROUNDING SCHEDULE”, drawing E603, Sheet 11. Contractor must at least provide this minimum conductor size.

3/26/2018 via Amendment

10 "New Work Keynotes" on Sheet 16 indicate to provide a quantity of (4) #500 Conductors with a #1/0 ground conductor for Circuit 25 to feed Building

74. The LC4 Grounding Schedule on Sheet 11 indicates the overcurrent device is 800A for this circuit. Should there be more than 4‐#500 MCM feeder conductors?

21‐Mar No. B74 is a 400A service served only by qty (3) 500MCM w/o ground and confirmed by MH Study data on E611‐650.

No neutral is carried from LC4 (4 th conductor). Contractor shall provide EGC as indicated.

3/26/2018

11 "New Work Keynotes" on Sheet 17 indicate to provide a quantity of (4) #500 Conductors with a #1/0 ground conductor for Circuit 13 to feed Building

60. The LC4 Grounding Schedule on Sheet 11 indicates the overcurrent device is 1600A for this circuit. Should there be more than 4‐#500 MCM feeder conductors?

21‐Mar Note is incomplete and should have stated qty (4) conductors per phase for a 1600A service. CONDUCTOR PATHWAYS Table is for existing feeder pathways, presently 1200A with qty (3) 500MCM per phase w/o ground. Available parallel 56’ pathway directly to building is to be utilized. Provide Qty (4) 500MCM per phase with #4/0 AWG ground per conduit.

12 Which circuits, if any, can be without temporary power for as long as it takes to replace the circuit conductors?

21‐Mar B75 is available and will be unaffected by cable replacement. All others will be taken on case by case basis. Refer to G003, Sheet 3, WORK COORDINATION PLAN and CONSTRUCTION notes. Also G004, Sheet

12, OUTAGE MITIGATION PLAN.

13 What is the period of time for each circuit that it can be without temporary power and what are hours of the day that this can take place?

21‐Mar In general, building will be available for Friday 1200 until Monday at 5AM. To be confirmed through outage process. See response to #10) above.

3/26/2018 via Amendment

14 Sheet 12 indicates the distance between Manhole AC‐7 and Manhole AC‐6 is 41.3 FT. The One‐Line Diagram for Circuit 26 on Sheet 13 also indicates this distance as 297.3 FT.Which distance is correct?

21‐Mar 41.3ft is correct distance. 3/26/2018

15 Sheet 12 indicates the distance between Manhole AC‐6 and Manhole AC‐601 is

62.4 FT.The One‐Line Diagram for

Circuit 25 on Sheet 16 indicates this distance as 41.3 FT.Which distance is correct?

21‐Mar 62.4ft is correct distance. 3/26/2018

16 Is there any requirement for grounding in manholes or is the contractor to assume that grounding of a sufficient nature exists in all manholes?

21‐Mar Deteriorated grounding system within manholes shall be brought to attention of

CM.

3/26/2018

17 What is the requirement for removing materials that are pumped out of manholes, i.e.: Pump to any accessible point, pump into storm drains, pump into containers for disposal off site or another consideration?

21‐Mar Manholes may be pumped to nearest storm drain unless a covering sheen is present on water surface. If found, refer to DEMOLITION note 3 on G003, Sheet 3 for further instructions.

3/26/2018 via Amendment

18 Other than the lead sheathed cables being removed are there any other hazardous materials which may be expected to be encountered?

21‐Mar Possible PCB contaminants in lead sheathed cable. If found, refer to DEMOLITION note 3 on G003, Sheet 3 for further instructions.
