1.9 PRE-PRICE CONTRACT LINE ITEMS

The Government will use the prices awarded for contract line items in the base year and for each option year as they apply in the award, and only if the option is extended. The Government will order work for task orders by multiplying the unit of measurement for each line item times the contract price for that line item. Each line item used on a task order is totaled separately and then combined with other line items to establish an estimated cost for a task order. Final payment will be determined by calculating the total work measured in place times the unit price of each line item. The total of all line items completed per task order, measured in place, and accepted by the Government shall be sent to the administrating office that issued the task order for payment.

All work shall be measured in place (task completed).

Examples:

ELIN: Quantity:

A08001 2223 SYIN

A 100 Foot X 100 Foot parking lot of asphalt placed in 2 inch lift and rolled to required compaction, equals 2222.22 Square Yard Inches of material. (100x100=10,000 Square Feet, 10000/9=1111.11 Square Yards, 1111.11x2 inches thick, Equals 2222.22 Square Yard Inches

A18009 500 LF

500 Feet of 4 inch thermoplastic lane marking in place on pavement. (500 linear feet)

A02002 371 CY

370.37 Cubic Yards of material excavated from work area and

trucked to disposal area off base area graded level after excavation. 100 Foot X 100 Foot new parking lot area excavated 12 inches deep. (100 X 100 = 10,000 SF, 10,000 SF X 1 F = 10,000 cubic feet, 10,000 CF / 27 = 370.37 Cubic Yards)

The measurement shall be based on the compacted soil measurement before removal. Measurement shall not be based on number of truck loads hauled or on weight of material removed.

A11013 5 V/FT

Drain inlet installed back filled and connected to existing drain system.

The Government will only pay for work measured in place. Any and all waste will be figured into the contractor's line item prices.

Example: Asphalt that might arrive on site below required installation temperature. Partial truck load of aggregate delivered to site but not placed for job requirements, two trucks required to haul away excavated material due to wet condition at site to avoid over weight condition.
