RESPONSES TO RFIS RECEIVED
Question1: Please provide the specification for the 1/16" epoxy floor finish.
Answer: Please refer to UFC 3-190-06 and references found therein.

2nd walkway located in the chamber with the actual tank in it. New walkway in this chamber to fit around the new tank.
Answer: I do not understand what is meant by "replaced from the exterior of the building". Only the walkway inside of the chamber containing the tank is to be replaced.
Question3: In the chamber outside of the chamber with the sulfate tank there is an existing sump pump in an existing pit. In the solicitation the 5.4 demolition of this sump pump has been crossed out however the new work
10.2.4 references supporting new sump pit piping. Please describe what work will take place, if any, at the sump pit and existing sump pump.
Answer: Overflow pipping running from the filler pipe to the sump pit is to be replaced. The all new piping that runs above the floor shall be supported every 40 inches of length. Existing sump pumps are to remain.
Question4: The existing lifting bolts on the precast roof panels have been cut off and temporary attachments will need to be installed as part of the removal. Please confirm that professional engineer will be required to provide lifting hardware design as part of the lift plan for these panels.
Answer: The Contractor shall provide their own engineering services to provide lifting hardware design as part of the lift plan.
Question5: Please confirm that the crane needed to remove these concrete roof panels and for the removal of the old tank and installation of the new tank will require sixty (60) day notice in order to set up in the flight line path.
Answer: It will take at least 45 days for approval of the crane waiver.

Answer: Yes, Bid guarantee will be required.
Question11: Please confirm whether a Payment and Performance Bond will be required after award.
Answer. Yes, Payment and Performance Bond will be required after award.
Question12: We are asking for the original submittal data and drawings on the existing tank. This is necessary so that we provide a new tank that exactly matches the existing tank to be demolished.
Answer: See Attachment B - Drawing for the existing tank
Attachment C - Concept Drawing for the Alum Feed System
Question13: There are no drawings for the work in the documents. The scope of work indicates and describes a new access platform. Is the contractor required to design & PE Seal this work as part of the materials to be provided and installed?
Answer: We don’t think contract is required to design and PE seal as part of the materials to be provided and installed. However, contractor will need to have in-house capability to procure proper materials meeting industrial standards and construct new access platform meeting applicable industrial standards and UFGS-05 50 13 requirements. For example, contractor will need to use non-corrosive, chemical (alum) resistant and properly sized anchors, fasteners, and other hardware that are used for access platform and tank saddles fixed/anchored on the floor/walls.
Contractor are required to provide submittals/construction plans to FEAD construction manager and MCBQ SMEs
