About this file

This is a Register of Wage Determinations under the Service Contract Act issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment Standards Administration, Wage and Hour Division, for California County of San Diego (Wage Determination No. 2015-5635, Revision 29, effective December 3, 2025).

The document establishes prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits for service employees performing work on federal contracts in the San Diego area. It covers over 200 occupation classifications organized into occupational categories including administrative support, automotive service, food preparation, furniture maintenance, general services, health occupations, information technology, instructional services, machine tool operations, materials handling, mechanics and maintenance, personal needs, plant operations, protective services, recreation, stevedoring, technical occupations, and transportation/mobile equipment operations. Wage rates range from $15.95 per hour for taxi drivers to $75.09 per hour for nuclear medicine technologists. All listed occupations receive fringe benefits of $5.55 per hour (up to 40 hours per week) for health and welfare, totaling $222.00 weekly or $962.00 monthly. Computer-related occupations with footnotes are subject to exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Additionally, air traffic controllers and weather observers are entitled to night pay differentials (10% for night work between 6pm-6am) and Sunday pay premiums (25% of basic pay rate). Hazardous pay differentials of 8 percent and 4 percent apply to specified positions involving exposure to ordnance, explosives, and incendiary materials. Employees also receive two weeks paid vacation after one year, three weeks after five years, and four weeks after fifteen years of service, along with minimum eleven paid holidays annually. The determination includes procedures for conforming unlisted occupation classifications through Standard Form 1444 submissions to the Department of Labor for approval.
