About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal Solicitation N3904026Q3118. The document addresses clarification regarding Unit 4 specifications in the Statement of Work, specifically concerning a rear-steer counterbalanced forklift chassis with a horizontal telescoping boom. The required equipment specifications include a 6,000 to 8,000 pound capacity at a 24-inch load center, with a maximum outside turning radius of 138 inches (though under 100 inches is preferred).

The government response clarifies that the solicitation is seeking equipment comparable to JCB or Sellick "Teletruks" designs, with the JCB TLT77-52D cited as an example product meeting the specifications. The government emphasizes that the solicitation is not brand-specific and welcomes comparable units from other manufacturers, but explicitly excludes "Teleskids" or traditional telehandlers. The response acknowledges that vendor familiarity with this equipment type varies due to its relatively recent market introduction.

QuesƟons and Answers

SolicitaƟon: N3904026Q3118

Q: “I had a question on Unit 4 on the SOW. Rear-steer counterbalanced forklift chassis with horizontal telescoping boom

•Capacity/type: 6K#-8K# capacity @ 24” L.C.

•Max outside turning radius: 138” (under 100” preferred)

Are you referring to a Telehandler? Thanks “

A: There is some confusion every time that we ask about these because they are relatively new and not all vendors carry them or are familiar with them. The solicitation is not brand specific, because frequently there is another manufacturer/vendor that we’re not aware of that makes a comparable unit; however, the spec is based on a design comparable to the JCB or Sellick “Teletruks”. We are not looking for “Teleskids” or telehandlers. A JCB TLT77-52D is one example for someone that hasn’t seen this design before.
