QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q: Can you tell me how many hours a day the generator will be running during the 33 week rental or how many power operations are going to be performed? The SOW is confusing. It states in 1.1 the genset will be in PRIME power rating for the duration of the power operations. In 3.2.2 is says the genset will only operate “I assume run” for the operation “I assume power operations” (less than 24 hours) and will be in PRIME mode for the remainer of period. If that’s the case it will be in Prime mode for the entire Period of Performance.
1. SCOPE
1.1. A diesel-powered portable Tier 4 Final generator with a built-in fuel tank to be deployed on top of a submarine. Topside generators are considered to be PRIME power rating for the duration of power operations.
3. REQUIREMENTS
3.2.2. The diesel generator will most likely operate only for the operation (less than 24 hours) and will be in Prime mode for the remainder of the use period.
A: The generator will power the boat during the docking and undocking evaluation. During those evaluation it is the primary source of power to the boat, so when sizing a generator prime and standby ratings differ. The duration of those evaluations are unknow to me but would say less than 20 hours each.
When being utilized on the pier during the in dock portion of the avail it will be used as a standby unit.
The know run time will be 10 mins a month for and OP check. To my knowledge there isn’t a mode of operation to the ratings it’s a duration of the unit operating
