CNIC-321, Reverse Osmosis Train Header Replacement/ UV light reactor replacement, CLDJ WON 1727099 Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa

8. All gaskets are to be EPDM. All provided stainless steel materials including but not limited to pipes, fittings and fasteners are to be SS 316L

9. Unless otherwise specified, pipe schedule, wall thickness and diameter is to match existing pipes.

Stainless steel and plastic header pipes and fittings to all four RO trains must be provided.

10. Provide CPVC pipes, fittings and accessories with same specification as existing to install the provided cartridge filter housing. Filter housings must be installed in orientation instructed in the attached P-102 New Pipe Layout of RO Train drawing at part 6 of this RFP. Filter housing must be installed per manufacturer’s recommendation. Pipe provision for filter housing must be performed to all four RO trains.

11. Provide CPVC pipes and fittings with the same specification as existing to connect the supply and discharge line of the removed UV treatment device.

12. All SS and plastic pipe headers provision will start from line entering cartridge filters and terminate at line exiting RO membranes. See photos in the attachment at part 6 of this RFP to determine the location where the work will start and terminate.

13. All works must be performed to all four RO trains

IPC.

F10 SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION

Provide SWTR compliant filter insert and cartridge. The regulations require that cartridge filters be challenge-tested by an independent laboratory in order to receive Cryptosporidium removal credit. The challenge testing must demonstrate a minimum of 3.0-log removal, including a 1-log removal safety margin, for individual cartridge filters to obtain a 2.0-log removal credit. Replacement filter vessels must provide a capacity of approximately 300 gpm for each RO train (3 x 100 gpm cartridge filter units in parallel). The filter characteristics must meet Challenge Testing for Cryptosporidium. All components used in drinking water treatment process should be evaluated for contaminant leaching and certified under ANSI/NSF Standard 61. The filter housing and cartridge must be challenge tested per LT2 ESWTR Toolbox Guidance Manual with specific instructions regarding: full scale filter testing, challenge particulate, test solution concentration, challenge test duration, water quality of test solution, maximum design flow rate, challenge particulate seeding method and concentration, sampling procedures and calculation of log removal. Up to 2.0-log removal for individual cartridge filters showing a minimum of 3.0-log removal in challenge testing. Up to 2.5-log removal for cartridge filters in series showing a minimum of 3.0-log removal in challenge testing. Testing is product specific, not site specific, meaning it does not

N3319122R4007 have to be tested in every water system seeking removal credit. Instead, a manufacturer or independent third party would challenge test each of its products in order to obtain a 2.0- or 2.5-log Cryptosporidium removal rating. A minimum of two (2) bad or cartridge filter housings should be provided to endure continuous water treatment in the event of failure in the filter operation and to allow for filter maintenance and replacement.

Filter Specifications as follows:

Pleated microfiber media provides more surface area for longer filter life and increased particle removal.

Manufactured from materials which are listed for food contact application in Title 21 of U.S. code of Federal Regulations.

Filter Media: FDA borosilicate microglass with acrylic binder.

Support Media: spun-bonded polyester laminated on both upstream and downstream sides.

Center Tubes: rigid PVC with perforations.

End Caps: plastisol (pliable PVC)

Shrink Wrap: standard on HC/170-LT2 cartridge.

Dimensions: 7-3/4” O.D.; 4” I.D.; 30-3/4” L.

Flow Rate: 100 GPM (recommended) per HC/170-LT2 cartridge;>3.6 Log removal Temperature: 140°F (60°C) max Dimensions: 7-3/4” O.D.; 4” I.D.; 30-3/4” L. Center Tubes: rigid PVC with perforations Flow Rate: 100 GPM (recommended) per HC/170-LT2 cartridge; > 3.6 Log removal Change Out:

25-30 PSI (1.72-2.07 Bar) ∆P * Temperature limits vary and depend on pressure and time under load.

Surface Area: 120 sq. ft. (HC/170-LT2) pH: 3 to 11

Each skid unit provide 100 gpm and is required to install in parallel to provide approximately 300 gpm. Each unit must be equipped with a single, 120 sf surface area, and pleated microfiber cartridge. Filter housing must be made from 316L stainless steel, rated for pressure up to 150 psi, and equipped with 2” flanged connectors. The top closure would be O-ring sealed and locked with swing bolts. Each housing must be equipped with two NSF 61 listed, 316L stainless steel pressure gauges for head loss monitoring. Install per manufacturer’s recommendation. Provide pressure gauges on the upstream and downstream of each cartridge filter. Provide additional filter cartridge to use for one (1) year maintenance replacement purposes.
