Grès Porcelain stoneware is a ceramic with a compact, hard, colored and non-porous body. The word “grès” means that the ceramic body of the tile is extremely vitrified, that is to say compact, hence the exceptional great resistance. The result is a lean clay body, little refractory, fired in a kiln (at 1200-1400 C°) until it reaches a non-porous vitrification and a complete water-proofing.

The new ceramic tiles shall be high quality, provided with the following technical features:

- Water Absorption: Tested by ISO 10545 - 3 ≤ 0,5%

- Deep abrasion resistance: Tested by ISO 10545 – 6: Max 175 mm3

- Friction coefficient (slipperiness): Tested by ASTM C 1028 ≥ 0,60

- Size: Minimum 40x40 cm

All floors shall be perfectly leveled, at the same height as the adjacent floors. For that reason, the contract includes removing existing floor surfaces as necessary for the installation of the new floor tiles. In rooms with water supply, such as the bathrooms, handwashing area and kitchenettes, all floors shall be sloped towards the new floor drain to be provided as part of this contract. Tile installation shall be done following manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations.

The new porcelain grès tiles shall be minimum 40x40 centimeters.

All existing piping in the areas under the scope of work shall be replaced with new, and installed under the wall surfaces. However, in some cases, it will be technically impossible to cover all piping. For example, in the ground floor bathrooms, the sewer and drainage piping on the ceiling will need to be visible, if new ceiling surface is not provided. Where the piping will be exposed, they shall be painted in order to minimize their visibility. However, all piping shall be covered along the walls. In some cases, the contractor shall provide masonry or gypsum board partition to cover piping on the walls, as for example the sewer and vent piping on the bathroom and handwash areas. Connection with the ceiling of these pipes shall be exposed in order for easy inspection and maintenance.

However, if not technically recommendable, and if properly justified by the engineer responsible for the design, the use of existing conduits, or the use of CE certified PVC channels can also be authorized.

- Lighting fixtures: The contractor shall provide new LED technology surface mounted lighting fixtures in the areas under the scope of work. Note that this lighting technology is much more expensive than other alternative lighting technologies. The number, size and location of lighting fixtures shall be the necessary to provide the lighting levels required by Bulgarian/European standards. No sewer/drainage piping shall be visible once the project is completed except in some areas of the ceiling and the connection with the roof.

- Cleaning the existing sewer lines and manholes: The contractor shall clean the existing sewer piping and manholes from the point of connection in the basement to the first existing manhole outside of the plot of land where the kindergarten is located.

3.1.11. SEWER INSPECTION

The contract includes the connection of the new sewer piping with the 2 existing sewer manholes located in the internal patio. According to the user, the sewer piping runs well from these points to the city sewer manhole located in the street in front of the kindergarten. The project shall include an inspection report on the condition of these lines, from the 2 sewer manholes in the internal patios to the first sewer manhole outside the public plot of land of the kindergarten.

The contractor shall hire the services of specialized sewer piping inspection. They shall use robot self propelled cameras. The inspection report shall include details of existing conditions, as well as recommended repairs, if any defect is found.
