About this file

This document is a U.S. Coast Guard Computerized Maintenance System (CMS) form (WPB-87, N33005.D, Revision 05/15/23) used to record scheduled and unscheduled maintenance performed on Coast Guard aircraft and surface assets.

The form documents the inspection of a contractor fire system (CMS Code N33005, CEINUM P1-B000-001) and requires completion by authorized Coast Guard personnel or contractor maintenance personnel. Key data fields include asset number, operating activity, maintenance accomplished date with asset hours, and maintenance due date with asset hours. The form captures whether maintenance was scheduled or unscheduled, identifies any discrepancies found, and documents man-hours expended by technician type (MK, DC, EM, ET, IT, GM, BM, FN, SN, ME, and other). Technician signature and ID are required, and Quality Assurance (QA) review is mandatory as indicated by asterisks. The maintenance procedure involves preliminary steps including equipment lockout/tagout per COMDTINST 9077.1, verification that an authorized marine fire extinguishing system inspector performs the work, installation of a new 360-degree fusible link (P/N: 302810), verification of contractor test completion, CO2 cylinder hydrostatic test date checks with Condition Finding Documentation (CFD) requirements, and compliance verification of CO2 discharge hoses. The form requires notification of the Engineer Petty Officer (EPO) if QA findings are unsatisfactory and completion of appropriate sign-off with pertinent remarks. References include DC MPC documents R-S-1570, R-S-1646, R-S-8844, MPC M00060.0, and COMDTINST 9077.1 (series).
