About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the USNS NEWPORT (T-EPF 12) Mid-Term Availability (MTA). The amendment provides answers to questions from potential offerors. Nineteen heat exchangers require cleaning, fabrication of new fittings, and installation. The coating area references in section 7.9.1 should refer to paragraphs 3.1.2 and 3.1.3, not 3.1.1 and 3.1.2. There is an estimated 13,640 linear feet of edge grinding and 10 square feet of coating required per bilge pocket, totaling 380 square feet. The Department of the Navy Military Sealift Command issued the solicitation.
