About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a Request for Quote (RFQ) for white cotton shop towels/rags to be used at multiple Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River hangars. The RFQ covers 6,050 brand new, unused rags to be delivered weekly for a base year plus four additional option years, with specific quantities allocated across seven different hangars (ranging from 100 to 1,500 rags per hangar). The current contract number is N0042120P0621, and the government prefers sourcing within the USA, though international sourcing is permitted if not from a restricted entity. Key clarifications include that only new, never-laundered shop towels are acceptable, and there is a potential for use with flammable substances like jet fuel. The solicitation allows contractors with different NAICS codes to participate, with the government's required NAICS code being 812332.

Question 1: Just to be clear, the activity expects to receive BRAND NEW white cotton rags each week, not previously used or laundered --- only BRAND NEW rags in the quantities set forth in the Statement of Work and in the CLIN descriptions of each item.
Answer 1: Yes, new shop towels (rags). Additional clarification: never used or laundered previously.
Question 2: Will the shop towels be used with anything flammable, ie - jet fuel, etc.
Answer 2: Since it is for hangers that is a possibility.
Question 3: My business is currently registered under NAICS code 425120. Am I still eligible to participate in this proposal if the solicitation requires a different NAICS code? I currently do not plan to add the required NAICS code to my SAM.gov profile. Would that disqualify me from submitting a response to this RFQ, or is it still possible to be considered?
Answer 3: The NAICs code 812332 is required on my end, but I never the tailor the NAICs to the contractors NAICs) so you should be fine with the NAICs you have listed. But the NAICs will be what is on the solicitation and cannot be what you have listed if that makes sense.
Question 4: Can I source this item from out of the country and provide an FOB price from the factory I have direct vendor relationship with?
Answer 4: If you outsource out of country, you must follow the Governments restrictions with certain foreign countries. It is preferred to source within the USA, however, as long as it is not with a restricted entity, then your proposal will be submitted to the TPOC for review.
Question 5: Is the solicitation a new requirement set by the government or is this a contract currently being performed that the government is renewing. If this is a renewal, do you have the contract number associated with the old contract?
Answer 5: The current contract number is N0042120P0621. All interested contractors are encouraged to submit a quote for the RFQ.
Question 6: The number of rags that are being requested for this project is it enough for all the projects listed?
