No.QuestionGovernment Response
Please confirm whether the “3D Layered, Custom Floating Wall mounted on Cinder Block in Wood” elements are to be fabricated from solid real wood or if alternative materials (such as veneers or engineered wood) are acceptable. As long as it would be the same or better quality and it would provide the purpose of the wood which is “3D Layers”
Does the Government require the use of multiple wood species (e.g., Maple, Oak, Birch), or is a single species acceptable? No specific type of wood, as long as it will provide the 3D effect
For the wood hexagon elements, is there an expectation that individual hexagons will vary in depth, or should all pieces be uniform in depth? There was no requirement for hexagon elements. TE7 was provided to show an example of the final product of the requirement. The design will vary per SOW note under 3.15 The contractor shall assess and prepare all affected areas to ensure proper installation of mixed media mural wall(s). Preparation may include but not be limited to, removal of molding, preexisting fixtures, repairing of holes or uneven textures, application of necessary primer, etc.
The term “Reflective Edge” is referenced in the SOW for LED backlighting integration. Could the Government provide a definition or description of the intended “Reflective Edge” application?Any material that is reflective in the edge to intensify the lighting effect of the art
Regarding LED lighting, should the halo lighting effect be positioned specifically on the left edge of the wood elements (as depicted in the renderings), or is a different lighting configuration intended for the “Reflective Edge” detail? The design will be recreated by the vendor and present it to the FSO per SOW note under 3.15 The contractor shall assess and prepare all affected areas to ensure proper installation of mixed media mural wall(s). Preparation may include but not be limited to, removal of molding, preexisting fixtures, repairing of holes or uneven textures, application of necessary primer, etc.
For any “Bee” design element shown in reference images or renderings, should it be halo lit and dimensional, and if so, to what extent? There was no requirement for bee elements.
Will the facility provide 110v power in at least two locations on the wall where the 3D art installations will be mounted, or should the contractor plan to provide and install new power connections?Vendor has to incorporate the design considering the power source
Could the Government provide the specific dimensions (width and height) for the wood/floating wall portions of the installations, separate from the overall mural area dimensions provided in the SOW?The design will be recreated by the vendor and present it to the FSO per PWS 3.14 Digital Design and Engineering Services - Includes 3 Edits / Digital Scaling / Photo Realistic Mock-Up - 28 Design Hour Allotment. Presentation should include the location of the lighting and the 3D effects.
