About this file
This document is a questions and answers clarification regarding a lighting control console upgrade project for Alumni Hall and Mahan Hall.
The project involves replacing three aging Strand Neo lighting control consoles (purchased circa 2011 and experiencing failures) with ETC Apex consoles. The consoles will be installed in three separate locations: Alumni Hall Room 311 (Arena Booth), Room 317 (Theatre Booth), and Mahan Hall Auditorium Booth. The new consoles will control dimmer racks that power theatrical lighting fixtures used for major events and are characterized as mission-critical systems due to limited alternative lighting control capabilities. The upgrade will enable future control of intelligent and LED lighting fixtures and reduce service calls and troubleshooting time. Upon completion of training, the Alumni Hall Staff will operate the Apex consoles. The document references attached production control system diagrams showing the ETC Apex connections and control responsibilities, though the diagrams themselves are not included in this file.

Please provide an answer/more details on the following:
1. Project plans and specifications for Alumni Hall - This requirement is an upgrade of our lighting control consoles. Our current consoles, Strand Neo, were purchased in or around 2011 and have started to fail. We use these to control the dimmer racks which power the theatrical lighting fixtures used for major events in Alumni & Mahan Halls. These systems are mission critical as we would have very limited means of controlling the lights if they were to fail completely. This will also give us future capabilities to control intelligent and LED lighting fixtures if and when those are upgraded as well. New systems will limit the number of service calls and time spent troubleshooting.
2. The reflected ceiling of the Alumni Hall where these (3) ETC Apex consoles are supposedly living. These 3 consoles will live in each of the following locations: Alumni Hall Room 311 (Arena Booth), 317 (Theatre Booth), and Mahan Hall Auditorium Booth.
They will not live in the ceiling.
3. Any production control system diagrams that show what the ETC Apex is connecting to and what it will be responsible for controlling. Please see attached diagrams.
4. Information on who will be running the Apex consoles once the training is complete.
Alumni Hall Staff.
