Diagram for Q and A.pdf

This document consists of two system diagrams illustrating lighting control system architectures for institutional venues.

The Alumni Hall Apex FP System utilizes two Apex FP control booths (one for the theater and one for the arena) connected via closed local network lines to a central network switch. The switch distributes control signals through an sACN to DMX Gateway, which converts network-based lighting control protocols to DMX signals. Four Strand C21 Dimmer Racks, located in the air handler room within the catwalks, receive DMX control signals via patch cables and drops from the dimmer room. Both booths maintain independent DMX port connections for direct control capability.

The Mahan Hall Auditorium Apex FP System employs a single Apex FP booth connected through a DMX Isolated Splitter to both a Vision.net Arch Control System and a JSI MX3000 Dimmer Rack located backstage. The Vision.net Arch Control System connects to the DMX Isolated Splitter via closed local network lines, allowing dual control pathways. The dimmer rack receives DMX control signals via drops from the dimmer room. The DMX Isolated Splitter serves as the central distribution point, enabling simultaneous operation of multiple control sources while maintaining signal isolation to prevent interference between the control systems.
