About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for CNAL N009 Furniture solicitation (N0018926QL217).
The procurement requires Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) for Building NH-15, rooms 118-122, with delivery and installation required within 90 days after receipt of order. Key deliverables include: 14 cubicle workstations, each equipped with two rolling mobile drawer pedestals under the desk, electric height-adjustable sit-to-stand desks, and one magnetic whiteboard panel per cubicle with frameless frosted glass partitions not exceeding 60 inches total height; two executive offices with wardrobe cabinets (with specific door swing configurations per office), executive guest chairs (4 total), and open shelving; a collaborative work area with a sitting-height table accommodating four people positioned along the wall opposite the galley behind the cubicles, four collaborative chairs (casters preferred but not required if additional cost), and a combination whiteboard/message posting board; a SIPR room with two standard desks, two ergonomic office chairs, and one standalone cabinet for printer supplies; and a communal wardrobe cabinet. All electrical work—including new connections, circuit extensions, final whip connections, energization, testing, and labeling—is the FF&E contractor's responsibility using existing circuits from panel boards 15A and 15B. The PWS requirements control where discrepancies exist with the Furniture Items workbook. Vendors should base quotations on the assumption that the existing electrical system has sufficient capacity for required connections.

CNAL N009 Furniture Q & A N0018926QL217
Question 1: PWS Section III states that the FF&E Contractor shall install new electrical connections, extend existing circuits to the new furniture locations, perform final electrical whip connections, energize and test the circuits, and provide circuit labeling.
Answer 1: Yes, the FF&E contractor or its electrical subcontractor will perform this task
Question 2: Please confirm whether the awarded FF&E Contractor is responsible for all hardwired building-side electrical connections from the existing building electrical system or junction boxes to the furniture power infeeds, including any required conduit, wiring, circuit extensions, breakers, whips, testing, and labeling.
Answer 2: Yes, the FF& E contractor or it’s electrical sub will make all required electrical connections using existing circuits.
Question 3: Please also identify the electrical demarcation point and confirm whether any portion of the building-side electrical work will be performed by Government personnel or a Government-designated electrician.
Answer 3: No, the FF&E contractor or it’s electrical sub will make all required electrical connections using existing circuits from existing panel boards 15A & 15B.
Question 4: Are electrical drawings, panel schedules, circuit-capacity information, or designated connection points available for Building NH-15?
Answer 4: Yes, however, this should not be needed. FF&E contractor or it’s electrical sub will use the existing electrical circuits located throughout rooms 118-122 for furniture connections.
Question 5: If this information is unavailable, should vendors base their quotations on the assumption that the existing electrical system has sufficient available capacity and that only extensions of existing circuits and final furniture connections are required?
Answer 5: Yes
Question 6: The Furniture Items workbook describes the executive-office furniture as including a side-access wardrobe. Please confirm the required executive-office wardrobe configuration. Is a side-access or open-side wardrobe with shelves required, or would a fully enclosed wardrobe with left- or right-hand doors be acceptable?
Answer 6: The desire and intent are to have a near identical set up to the existing configuration which is the wardrobe at the end of the back wall cabinetry, with a door that opens. Open shelving off the side of the wardrobe is desired as well. For office space 118, it would open from the right side to the left. For office space 119, it would open from the left side to the right. See picture for reference.
The item shown is for illustrative purposes only; equivalent models, styles, and color options will be accepted.
Question 7: The Furniture Items workbook identifies “Lateral File Storage (14) and lateral drawers (14) for under desk,” with a combined quantity of 28.
The amended PWS, Section IV.1(j)–(k), requires:
• At least one wardrobe cabinet for each cubicle workspace, located among the storage units positioned against the designated display wall; and
• At least one lateral file drawer unit for each cubicle workspace, located under the desk.
Please confirm whether the workbook’s fourteen lateral file storage units and fourteen under-desk lateral drawers correspond respectively to the PWS wardrobe cabinets and under-desk lateral file units.
If the fourteen “Lateral File Storage” units are separate from the fourteen wardrobe cabinets required by PWS Section IV.1(j), please provide the required configuration, dimensions, drawer arrangement, and intended location for those additional lateral file storage units.
Answer 7: Each cubicle shall be configured with two under-desk file drawer storage units, with no wardrobe units of any kind included in the layout. Because all workstations will feature electric height-adjustable desks (sit-to-stand), standard overhead storage is not feasible;
therefore, maximizing under-desk storage with these two units per desk is a requirement for this project. Please see picture for reference.
