The solicitation requires one compressor with specific performance characteristics, including a final discharge pressure between 2700-3300 PSI, 19.8 SCFM capacity, and air cooling. The accompanying 75-foot hose must connect to the ship's 1-inch male threaded high-pressure air valve, with any necessary adapters included in the quote.
The Navy contract opportunity is for a firm-fixed-price purchase order, classified under NAICS code 333912 with a small business size standard of 1000 employees. Delivery is required 24 weeks after receipt (ARO), with performance location at USS BATAAN in Norfolk, VA. Question 5 Had a quick question regarding Notice iD N0018925Q0248 for the HPAC and Hose section - Is there a specific type of hose connection that is needed for the hose section in this bid? It states we have to connect to the 1inch male threaded valve but doesn't state anything regarding what kind of coupling it might be.
Answer: The connection from the unit will depend on the HPAC provided, the connection to the ship is a 1 inch male threaded high pressure air valve connection. We have made the connection in the past if modification is necessary to connect the air-line to the ship. The preference is the 75 ft of hose is a straight run and not two connected hoses which would eliminate a coupling between two hoses.
