About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the Yard Patrol Craft AMCS Repair project. The Q&A addresses four key technical aspects of the proposed system upgrade: (1) Cimplicity system configuration, which will maintain the current Node 1, Node 2 independent setup for redundancy; (2) software upgrade intent to convert existing programs to run on the latest Cimplicity revision; (3) industrial computer requirements specifying compact, solid-state workstations; and (4) PLC status, which will continue to use the existing Legacy GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLCs, with potential future updates planned as part of a separate lifecycle project.

Yard Patrol Craft AMCS Repair Q&A

1. It looks like the current Cimplicity systems are setup independently so are you interested in keeping this configuration or would you like to combine the screens in the new systems to be setup for redundancy?

A: We would like to keep the existing configuration. They are currently setup as a Node 1, Node 2 configuration in the event of a failure

2. Is the intent to continue to use the current program(s) but just have them converted to run on the latest revision of

Cimplicity?

A: Yes. We intend to keep the current programs while running the newest version of Cimplicity.

3. When you state that you want industrial computers, are you looking for them to be completely solid state and more compact workstations?

A: Yes. Compact, solid state industrial workstations

4. The PLCs you are using are quite old so are you looking to have the PLCs updated as well?

A: Not at this point in time. We are looking into having the PLCs updated as part of a lifecycle project at a future date. This availability would be utilizing the existing Legacy GE Fanuc Series 90-30 PLC.
