About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing clarification on filter specifications for a federal contract solicitation. A contractor inquired about missing stopband specifications (frequency and attenuation requirements) that were essential for obtaining manufacturer quotations. The government responded that the stopband frequencies were contained in the original requirements document and provided complete technical specifications for six filters.
The solicitation requires six RF filters with the following specifications: Filter 1 (2200-2400 MHz, band-pass), Filter 2 (2600-3700 MHz, band-stop), Filter 3 (350-450 MHz, band-pass), Filter 4 (5300-6000 MHz, band-stop), Filter 5 (5600-5700 MHz, band-pass), and Filter 6 (1400-1900 MHz, band-pass). All filters must meet uniform performance requirements: attenuation ≥30 dB, SMA female-to-SMA female connectors, power handling ≥1 W, VSWR ≤1.5:1, and passband ripple ≤1 dB. Size constraints are not specified, with preference for smaller units. The response clarifies that the frequency and attenuation data were available in the original solicitation materials, specifically in the 2nd and 3rd line items of each filter requirement section.

Q. While obtaining a quotation from our manufacturer, they advised that the solicitation does not appear to include the required stopband specifications (frequency and attenuation). These values are essential for the design and quotation of the requested filters.
Could you please provide the missing stopband frequency and attenuation requirements, or advise if there is an additional attachment or document containing this information?
A. The frequencies were listed in the original requirements 2nd and 3rd line item of each filter requirement and listed below.
All Filters: Attenuation: >= 30 dB
BP = band-pass, BS = band-stop.
1. 2200-2400 MHz, BP
2. 2600-3700 MHz, BS
3. 350-450 MHz, BP
4. 5300-6000, BS
5. 5600-5700, BP
6. 1400-1900 MHz, BP
Connectors: SMA female – SMA female
Attenuation: >=30 dB
Size: No constraints, smaller always better
Power handling: >=1 W
VSWR: <= 1.5:1
PB ripple: <=1 dB
