About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) for a federal solicitation involving cubicle workstation procurement. The government is seeking 22 cubicles with specific panel height requirements: 42" panels for storage cabinets, 84" panels along existing walls, and 66" panels in all other locations. The panels will use medium gray fabric with black paint, and a mobile 3-drawer pedestal is included. Vendors may propose any TAA-compliant, OEM-supported solutions that meet the Statement of Work (SOW) specifications, with flexibility allowed for minor variations in panel heights. The room dimensions are estimated at 35'-5" x 37'-10", and prospective bidders were given an opportunity to visit the site. The government wants to proceed with the work soonest after contract award and will select plastic laminate finishes from the manufacturer's standard options after award.

Additional Questions:

1. The SOW lists panels in 42”, 66”, and 84” heights, but it’s not clear how these are distributed within each cubicle. Could you please confirm the intended configuration or share a drawing/picture showing the panel heights?

Government Response: 42” panels shall be used exclusively at the (2) STORAGE CABINETS as indicated on drawing A-1. 84” panels shall be used exclusively along existing walls where the proposed new cubicle workstation abuts an existing wall. 66” panels shall be used throughout in all other locations.

2. Please confirm the configuration of the standard cubicle’s panel heights. 42”, 66” and 84” are noted, but not referenced in the drawings.

Government Response: See response to question 1 above.

3. Please confirm the panel heights for the storage/copy area.

Government Response: 42” panels shall be used exclusively at the (2) STORAGE CABINETS as indicated on drawing A-1.

4. Is it acceptable to have panel heights vary from the requirements minimally to use manufacturer’s standard panel heights?

Government Response: There is flexibility, within reason, to the heights noted in the

SOW.

5. Is the 3-drawer pedestal fixed or mobile?

Government Response: Mobile

6. Do you have the overall measurements for the room, or is there a CAD file?

Government Response: Prospective bidders were provided an opportunity to visit the site prior to submission of bids in order to verify existing conditions/dimensions. While the government makes no guarantee concerning the following, an estimate of the overall room dimensions = 35’-5” x 37’-10”.

7. For the 22 cubicles, would the Government accept office pods if they meet all requirements in the SOW?

Government Response: No

8. The RQMNT list doc was not working for us. Are there any reference workspace images, design standards, or preferred layouts that the Government would like vendors to follow, or will any compliant cubicle/workstation system that meets the specifications in the SOW be acceptable?

Government response: The government is looking for a cost effective solution, therefore, any compliant cubicle/workstation system that meets the specifications in the SOW be acceptable.

9. For the cubicle workstations, is the Government seeking a specific manufacturer, brand, or product line, or may vendors propose any TAA-compliant, OEMsupported solutions that satisfy the requirements?

Government response: Vendors may propose any TAA-compliant, OEMsupported solutions that satisfy the requirements outlined in the SOW.

10. With respect to the storage/copy area, are there any additional preferences regarding finishes, color schemes, or functional layout beyond what is described in the SOW and drawings?

Government response: No.

11. Is there guidance/diagram as to which panels should be 42, 66, 84?

Government response: 42” panels would be used exclusively at the (2) STORAGE CABINETS as indicated on drawing A-1. 84” panels would be used exclusively along existing walls where the proposed new cubicle workstation abuts and existing wall. 66” panels would be used in all other locations.

12. For the flipper cabinet, would you accept one that flips up on top of the overhead?

Government response: No.

13. When will delivery be required?

Government response: Reference the area annotated as “STORAGE CABINETS” on the drawing (A-1) provided as an attachment to the solicitation

16. You list 42” x 66” and 84” panels needed. Unless I am missing something, I do not see any notations as to what height goes where. Can you please clarify that?

along existing walls where the proposed new cubicle workstation abuts and existing wall. 66” panels would be used in all other locations.

17. Are you able to provide a CAD (.dwg) file of this space?

Government response: Upon request by the contractor selected and awarded this contract, a CAD drawing can be provided.

18. Is there a finish plan that we need to follow for the laminate?

Government response: The contractor shall provide plastic laminate (PLAM) samples for the government’s review/approval. The government shall make a selection following contract award from the PLAM manufacturer’s full range of standard PLAM options.

19. Looks like it calls out medium gray fabric with black paint for the panels and medium gray for the storage but I didn’t see anything for the laminate. The request calls out panel heights of 42”, 66” and 84” inches. Is there a predetermined location for what walls are which heights?

along existing walls where the proposed new cubicle workstation abuts and existing wall. 66” panels would be used in all other locations.
