The following have been modified:
STATEMENT OF WORK
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
FOR
OVERHAUL, REPAIR, MATERIAL AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT OF MK-82 and AN/SPG-62
3 October 2018
1. SCOPE/BACKGROUND
1.1. SCOPE: This statement of work (SOW) defines the requirements for overhaul, supplemental repair, and parts kitting for MK-82 Directors and AN/SPG-62 Reflectors/Antenna Systems. Painting requirements for AN/SPG-62 piece parts and material support requirements are also defined in this SOW.
Shipboard system installation support service requirements are also included. Technical support services that complement the overhaul, repair, analysis, material condition assessments (MCAs) and shipboard installation processes form a part of this SOW.
1.2. BACKGROUND: MK-82 Directors and AN/SPG-62 Antennas are major subsystems of the
MK-99 Fire Control System. Operation and sustainment for deployed fire control systems in the United
States Navy (USN) Fleet is essential to mission readiness. The Program Executive Office, Integrated
Warfare System (PEO IWS 1.0), Washington, DC and individual ships execute their MK-82 and
AN/SPG-62 restoration requirements through NSWC Crane, Radar Technologies Division. Foreign
Military Sales (FMS) assets are also overhauled and repaired as part of this effort.
NSWC Crane retains the complex Radio Frequency (RF) and electronic performance testing for these systems using some contractor test support at NSWC Crane. Contractor support is used for system disassembly, system reassembly, replacement of designated mandatory parts, paint/coating removal, painting/coating application, physical repair, contractor internal quality assurance inspections, test support, subassembly repair, technical support, and safe transport of systems and refurbished parts to/from NSWC Crane and the contractor and/or subcontractor facilities. Mandatory replacement parts consist of common hardware items such as screws, washers, bolts, nuts, insulators, terminal lugs, cable assemblies, etc. Physical repair includes dent/scratch removal, re-facing of reflectors, welding, and precision machining or fabrication of parts.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
The following documents form a part of this SOW to the extent described herein. In the event of conflict between the documents referenced herein and the contents of this SOW, the contents of this SOW shall prevail.

Evaluations are performed at the contractor facility. The contractor shall execute processes necessary to accommodate a complete inspection and evaluation of the reflector submitted overhaul. The contractor shall remove paint and/or other coatings in high corrosion areas to ensure a complete detailed evaluation can be executed. The contractor shall provide an evaluation report to the Government identifying if the reflector is repairable and the configuration of the Reflector (Lund or Marion). The evaluation report shall identify a standard overhaul or a major overhaul. Major overhauls shall be reported if the reflector has delamination or deep physical damage into the reflector. The contractor shall submit the evaluation report to the Government within 5 calendar days after receipt of the unit. If the Government disagrees with the planned approach identified in the evaluation report, the Government will respond to the contractor within 3 working days after receipt of the report. Any reflector that has delamination (excluding punctures) below layers 8, 9 and 10 as defined in TWT272-AB-PRO-070/FCS MK99, Chapter 4, figure 4-3, shall be deemed beyond economical repair (BER) and shall be returned to the government. The evaluation report shall identify all issues with the reflector which resulted in the BER. Evaluation reports shall include photographic evidence of the damaged/missing/worn parts and/or areas. An example of an evaluation report is provided in Appendix A. (CDRL A001, Technical Report (Evaluation Report))
3.2.5. AN/SPG-62 Reflector, Standard Overhaul.
