Below are the paragraphs that have been revised in the Performance Specification PS/13/JXQs/118:
Paragraph 1.0 has been revised:
FROM:
SCOPE. This performance specification provides for the procurement, sustainment support, training, and technical documentation of a Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) DUAL-MODE Transmission and Back Scatter X-Ray Baggage Scanner (XRBS) for Entry Control Points (ECP) operation. Terrorism threats exist which endanger the assets and personnel of the U.S. Navy.
Baggage screening is necessary at ECPs of high value assets to eliminate threats such as firearms or ammunition and components of ammunition, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) with fragments or components, knives with blades 4" or greater or other anomalies that could potentially present a threat. These threats can exist in hand-carried items, personal baggage, and uploaded cargo.
The intent is for the XRBS to be used at ECPs constructed either at inspection gates or ECP.
When not in use, the XRBS can be moved to a location within the ECP for ease of access. For this reason, the XRBS shall have the capability to be easily moved from one location to another without the need for a trained technician to recalibrate or service the XRBS.
