SUMMARY OF CHANGES

NOTE: Line items 0009, 0010 and 0011 are hereby deleted from this solicitation. These items are no longer required by the Government.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

The following questions have been submitted to the Government regarding the NSWC CCA Motherboard Sample.

The Government response follows each question.

Question 1: LED Concerns

LN1371SG-(TR)

LED GREEN S TYPE LOW CUR SMD T/R

Part has been obsoleted by manufacturer with no direct replacement.

LN1471SY-(TR)

LED AMBER S TYPE LOW CUR SMD T/R

Part has been obsoleted by manufacturer with no direct replacement.

Answer: For the LEDs that follow, we understand they are obsolete. However, there are enough available on the open market to complete the sample board. Please use the specified part. If there is a problem finding sources, please let us know and we can give some options.

***The following are acceptable substitutions 4816P-T02-223 to 4816P-T02-223LF 4816P-T02-103 to 4816P-T02-103LF 4816P-T01-103 to 4816P-T01-103LF 4816P-T01-562 to 4816P-T01-562LF MAX3485EESA to MAX3485EESA+

Question 2: Bareboard Concerns

Copper Layer A/W Issues

a. Top and bottom copper layers as well as in2, in3 and in4 have pads located at all non plated hole locations. The diameter is larger than the drill, to avoid leaving exposed copper in hole walls, may we remove all pads at non plated hole locations? If this is not acceptable please indicate exposed copper is acceptable.

Answer: Removing pads at non plated hole locations is acceptable.

b. Our manufacturing minimum for plated hole to copper is .008", layers POWER, GROUND and IN1 has this space down to .0064" plated hole to copper. May we pull the copper pour (verified to not affect form fit or function, or netlist)? This edit will improve yields and long term reliability.

N00164-14-R-JN04

Answer: Changing the spacing from .0064" to .008" is fine as long as you do not affect form, fit, function or netlist.

c. Stackup: Concerned that the stack up with 3 plane layers together then 3 signal layers together will result in excessive warpage. Would it be permissible to try to balance these some, alternating signal and plane? If not may we waive warp call out (note 9) on Drawing?

Answer: Stackup change is fine as long as TOP and BOTTOM are unaffected.

d. Drawing Issues: some dimensional discrepancies in board dimensions. Lower left hole to edge, the supplied outline measures 0.20" hole to lower edge which works with the overall dimension. DWG sheet 1 shows 0.19" and fabrication layer included in gerber data shows .188" both of which do not work with the 4.25" over all dimension. May we redline the drawings to match supplied data (0.20") to match supplied data?

Answer: The critical dimension is that the holes be 3.880 +/-tolerance apart. If the board was exactly 4.25 it would put the center of holes .185 from the side instead of .19 (rounded in CAD).

e. Netlist Problem: No cad netlist was included, will it be acceptable to test using gerber extracted netlist?

Answer: Gerber Extracted Netlist is acceptable.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
