The number of pages printed will affect battery life. How many pages will they want to print in 2 hours?

Proposed Answer:

The Government will revise the solicitation to indicate the requirement for a MS Win 7 Compatible mobile (battery operable) printer capable of printing at least 200 pages per battery charge.

Question:

If two different responses come in to you with the same manufacturer part number and they both qualify as technically sound and in the 3 lowest cost will you require that manufacturer to send more than the 3 tablets per line as demo? Or will 3 of each tablet still suffice for Phase two testing?

Proposed Answer:

Yes, the Government will revise the solicitation to indicate that the manufacturer may provide only 3 of each tablet (i.e. one test set) if a specific brand and model of tablet is part of multiple offers from the same offeror.

It will be important for the offeror to communicate clearly to the contracting officer (e.g. by using specific tablet part or batch number) the alignment of: (a) offers submitted, (b) tablet provided and (c) tablet requirement (i.e. Tab A, B, C or D) to ensure the appropriate test criteria are applied if and when invited to participate in Phase 2 (Testing of Samples).

Also, if a tablet manufacturer is providing a specific brand and model of tablet via multiple offerors, then it permissible for the manufacturer to provide only 3 of each tablet (i.e. one test set) as long as each offeror individually confirms and accepts the responsibility for the manufacturer’s delivery of the tablets (timeliness and capability). The offeror (s) will provide such confirmation and acceptance of responsibility in writing to the contracting officer when responding to the invitation to participate in Phase 2.

Question:

Will any of the accessories be required for the phase two demos?

Proposed Answer:

No, the Government will revise the solicitation to indicate that all accessories will be evaluated in Phase 1 based on written documentation provided by the offerors. Phase 2 testing is specific to CLIN 0001 - Full Featured Rugged Tablet, CLIN 0010 - Standard Rugged Tablet, CLIN 0019 - Basic Durable Tablet, and CLIN 0025 - Compact Basic Durable Tablet).

However, if a tablet requires an accessory to fulfill the technical requirements for the respective tablet CLIN, then that accessory is essentially a part of the tablet and therefore must be provided for Phase 2 evaluation. For example, if a docking station is required to achieve CLIN Specification 5.1 - Wired network Capability, then the docking station shall be provided with tablet for Phase 2 testing.

Lastly, integrated RFID readers, barcode scanners, cameras and CAC readers (as required by tablet specification set forth in each CLIN) are NOT considered accessories, and shall be required for Phase 2 testing.
