Government Furnished Property

Due to the complexity of the systems provided as Government Furnished Property (GFP), only a brief description is provided herein. All of the equipment and technical documentation will be made available for inspection by appointment.

Mini-ROV – SUPSALV maintains four (4) mini-ROV’s to support divers, conduct underwater investigations, and support diver operations to a depth of 1,000’. Each system has scanning sonar, camera, lights, compass and thrusters for propulsion. A two-axis claw is mounted on the ROV and can be used to grab and hold small objects. Two (2) personnel from a small boat can deploy a mini-ROV. It is anticipated that one (1) mini-ROV system will be stored in Bahrain at a Government-owned facility and the remaining three (3) mini-ROV systems will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

Shallow Water Side Scan Systems (SWISS) – SUPSALV maintains three (3) side scan systems. One (1) digital side scan system can be operated in shallow water using a 1,000’ hand deployed soft cable. Two (2) side scan systems are capable to depths of 7,000’ utilizing a 22,000’ fiber optic cable deployed from an electro-hydraulic winch. Deck equipment includes a fixed A-frame, control and support van, spares boxes, hydraulic power supply and a cable level wind and winch. It is anticipated that three (3) SWISS will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

Towed Pinger Locators (TPL) – The SUPSALV TPLs are highly transportable systems used for localizing acoustic beacons such as the 37.5 kHz markers used on commercial and military aircraft. SUPSALV maintains three (3) TPL systems that include a shallow water hand held unit, and two (2) deep water systems. The systems include a tow fish, operators console for the shallow water system, and an electro-hydraulic winch for the deep water systems. TPLs are designed to operate on a variety of cables including side scan sonar cable and coaxial oceanographic cable. Maximum depth for the tow fish is 20,000’. It is anticipated that the TPL systems will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

Deep Drone – The SUPSALV Deep Drone is a custom designed ROV capable of working to a depth of 8,000’. The vehicle is open frame construction equipped with CTFM search sonar, video camera, 35-mm film camera, two hydraulic manipulators, electric and hydraulic thrusters, and various sensors for command, control and tracking. Navigation is accomplished by use of either an ultra short or long baseline acoustic navigation system. Topside equipment includes a cable handling system, electric generator, control van and ancillary support vans. It is anticipated that Deep Drone will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

Magnum 38 – The SUPSALV Magnum 38 ROV system is capable of operating to a depth of 8,200’. Magnum is deployed on a fiber optic armored cable from a winch powered by an electro-hydraulic power pack and is launched over an A-frame. The ROV is deployed from a thruster powered cage. The vehicle is equipped with lighting, color and black and white cameras, CTFM sonar, hydraulic thrusters, dual manipulators, and ancillary sensors. It is anticipated that Magnum 38 will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

CURV 21 – The SUPSALV CURV 21 is a custom designed ROV capable of operating to a depth of 20,000-ft. Some unique design features include electric thrusters and motor controllers, circulating cooling system on the vehicle to dissipate motor controller heat, and a fiber-optic slip ring at the vehicle termination. The ROV was designed to fully integrate with ORION to perform a joint single phased operation for both search & recovery to 20,000-ft from a single vessel platform. These two systems share topside equipment, umbilical, traction winch, and control van. It is anticipated that CURV 21 will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

ORION Side Scan System – The ORION system is a commercial 20,000-ft side scan system reconfigured with a custom towfish axially towed behind a depressor and launched from an A-frame. ORION shares its 36,000-ft of fiber optic cable and topside equipment with CURV 21. It is anticipated that the ORION system will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

35-T Grove Mobile Crane – The SUPSALV Grove mobile crane is part of the Undersea Ops program and used to facilitate rapid emergency system mobilization. It must be maintained and operated under both OASH and NAVFAC P-307 standards.

Ancillary Equipment – SUPSALV maintains a wide variety of ancillary equipment to support search and recovery operations, This equipment includes, but is not limited to, mobile communications vans, deep ocean salvage line spoolers, extensive arrays of salvage rigging equipment, flyaway navigation equipment, deep water transponders, and an on-site field documentation system. It is anticipated that the ORION system will be stored at the Contractor furnished facilities supplied under this contract, if ordered.

The Government presently has a program in place, called Program 21, to revise and modernize the GFP during the early years of any resultant contract. The major focus of this effort will be the modernization of Deep Drone, but other smaller systems may be included.
