About this file
This document is Addendum No. 1 for the Metropolitan Library System's Village Library Renovation project, issued by LWPB Architecture on December 3, 2018. The addendum provides updates and clarifications to the original contract documents, specifically addressing permit costs, interior book drop details, door hardware specifications, and carpet installation requirements. The modifications include replacing several specification sections in their entirety, adding an integral mini-blind at Door #150, providing lever handle-type hardware to meet ADA requirements, and specifying full-spread, releasable adhesive for carpet installation in book stack and heavy rolling traffic areas.
The addendum indicates that permit costs are the contractor's responsibility, and mobile book bins or carts for the new interior book drop will be provided by the owner. The document provides detailed technical specifications for door hardware, including hinge quantities, lock types, closer specifications, and finish requirements. The hardware sets outline specific requirements for two doors (Door #150 and Door #115), detailing the exact components needed such as hinges, locks, door closers, stops, and other accessories. Manufacturers are specified for various components, with an emphasis on matching existing facility standards and maintaining consistency with current hardware designs.
