About this file
This is a Minimum Insurance Requirements document issued by the City of Doral, Florida, establishing mandatory coverage specifications for contractors and vendors providing services to the municipality. The City of Doral requires contractors to maintain Commercial General Liability with limits of $2,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 policy aggregate, Business Automobile Liability with $1,000,000 combined single limit for any accidents, Crime Insurance or Fidelity Bonds with minimum coverage of $25,000 per employee or incident, and Workers Compensation at statutory Florida limits with Employers Liability coverage of $1,000,000 for bodily injury claims. All insurance policies must remain in force without interruption for the duration of the contract term, with the City of Doral listed as an additional insured on all applicable policies and endorsements including contingent and contractual liability, premises and operations liability, and primary insurance clauses. The City requires 10 days' written notice of any policy cancellation or material changes from insurers, and contractors are responsible for ensuring all subcontractors comply with these insurance requirements.
All insurance providers must be authorized to conduct business in Florida and maintain ratings of at least "A-" for management and "Class V" for financial strength according to the latest AM Best's Insurance Guide. Umbrella or excess liability insurance may be utilized to meet required limits, provided coverage is written on a "following form" basis and remains no more restrictive than underlying policies. The City of Doral Risk Management retains the right to review, verify, and reject any insurer due to poor or deteriorating financial condition, and reserves the right to amend insurance requirements to adequately address the scope of services. These minimum insurance requirements do not limit contractor liability and are not intended to be sufficient to protect the contractor's or vendor's interests but serve only as baseline coverage mandates for the City of Doral's protection.
