Yellowstone National Park Special Projects Roads FY 26 Equipment Rental

Description:

Yellowstone National Park requires the rental of two pneumatic compactors and one cold asphalt milling machine and one self-propelled road broom for the 2026 summer construction season meeting the following requirements.

Requirements/Specifications:

1) Pneumatic Rollers:

2 ea. Hamm HP 280i pneumatic rollers or equal machine

Roller compactors shall have the following options. (Minimum requirements)

• Service brake and Emergency brake

• Pressurized water spray system, spray nozzle one per tire

• Fuel type Diesel.

• Transporting weight 21,000 LB

• With Maximum operating weight with ballasting 62,000 LB

• Tire overlap when straight inches 2 inches

• Overall width 82 inches

• Rated Gross engine horsepower minimum 2000 rpm 100 HP

• Best available technology Tier group Diesel power plant

• Water (spray) Tank capacity. Minimum 100 gallons.

• Tire wetting system solvent emulsion system 5 gallon

• Transmission type two speed Hydrostatic

• Speed high minimum 11 MPH

• Back up alarm

• Full instrumentation panel minimum requirements: Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Voltmeter, Tachometer, Hour Meter, Fuel Gauge, Hydraulic Temp, and Back up alarm

• Multi position operator station

• Suspension seat with seat belt and arm rest

• Federal and State roll over protection with seat belt. shall meet DOT requirements

• Sun canopy attached to the ROPS

• Roof mounted rotating amber beacon lights. Four-way flashers and turn signals

• Front and rear work lights including taillights and parking lights with flashers

• Work lights front and rear

• Machines shall be no older than 5 years and not have more than 2000 operating hours at the start of lease.

• All repair work shall be completed within 48 hours of notification at no additional cost to Yellowstone national park. If the 48-hour time frame cannot be met a replacement roller shall be provided at no additional cost to Yellowstone National Park

• PM’s will be performed by the dealer at manufacturers suggested intervals

• Damage resulting from miss-use, accident, etc. will be repaired at the expense of the National Park

Service.

• Month is defined as 1 calendar month and may be 28-31 days in length as determined by the calendar

• Period of Performance: 07/01/2026-08/31/2026

2) Cold Asphalt Milling Machine:

1 ea. Wirtgen W150XFi or equal machine

Milling Machine shall have the following options. (Minimum requirements)

• Front discharge Conveyor

• Overall length 45ft 9 in

• Width 7 ft 9 in

• Transporting weight 46,000 LB

• Fuel type Diesel.

• Back up alarm.

• Full instrumentation panel minimum requirements: Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Voltmeter, Tachometer, Hour Meter, Fuel Gauge, Hydraulic Temp, and Back up alarm

• Rated Gross engine horsepower minimum 400 HP

• Best available technology Tier group Diesel power plant

• Working Speed 0-131 ft/min

• Travel Speed 0-410 ft/min

• Water tank capacity (minimum) 500 gal

• Cutting width (minimum) 4’11 to 6ft

• Discharge belt slewing angle 60 degrees right and left

• Level Pro Plus leveling system left and right (parallel to surface capability)

• Rapid slope cross slope sensor

• 4 track drive with anti-slip control

• Automatic Engine speed control

• Federal and State roll over protection with seat belt. shall meet DOT requirements

• Sun canopy attached to the ROPS

• Roof mounted rotating amber beacon lights. Four-way flashers and turn signals

• Front and rear work lights including taillights and parking lights with flashers

• Work lights front and rear

• Machines shall be no older than 5 years and not have more than 2000 operating hours at the start of lease

Road Broom shall have the following options. (Minimum requirements)

• 74 HP turbo charged Tier 4 diesel engine

• 6’ turn radius

• 30-gallon fuel capacity

• 6 bolt steel wheels

• 4-wheel hydraulic breaks

• 2 speed hydrostatic transmission

• Brush speed control

• 96” sweeping path

• Brush side shift

• 8’ Poly tube brush

• 35 degree sweeping angle

• Float control

• 150-gallon water system

• Brush pressure gauge

• Emergency engine shut down switch

• Enclosed cab with washer and wiper

• Air conditioning

• Heat and defroster

• West coast mirrors

• Front and rear work lights

• Strobe light

• Machines shall be no older than 5 years and not have more than 2000 operating hours at the start of lease

• All repair work shall be completed within 48 hours of notification at no additional cost to Yellowstone

National Park. If the 48-hour time frame cannot be met a replacement mill shall be provided at no additional cost to Yellowstone National Park

• PM’s will be performed by the dealer at manufacturers suggested intervals

• Contractor will provide 3 spare 8’ poly tube brushes

• Damage resulting from miss-use, accident, etc. will be repaired at the expense of the National Park

Service. Month is defined as 1 calendar month and may be 28-31 days in length as determined by the Calendar

• Period of performance: 07/01/2026-09/30/2026
