About this file

Addendum No. 2 for the Military Museum Expansion project in Huntsville, Alabama, issued by the City of Huntsville, provides clarifications and modifications to the original construction documents dated May 29, 2025. The addendum, prepared by architect Jeffrey S. Alpha, outlines detailed changes across multiple project sheets, including specifications for roofing, storefront and curtainwall systems, electrical installations, and site logistics. The anticipated project schedule includes bid opening on 08/26, post-bid review on 08/28, council action and contract award on 09/11, with a planned notice to proceed on 10/01. Contractors are required to include comprehensive documentation of subcontractors, comply with specific material and installation requirements, and coordinate across various disciplines.

Key modifications include tax-exempt project status, specific requirements for roof system installers, detailed specifications for metal studs and exterior finishes, and coordination instructions for electrical, sprinkler, and access control systems. The addendum emphasizes that the City of Huntsville will not provide printed drawings, and contractors must produce necessary documentation. Allowances are included for unforeseen site conditions, and contractors must follow strict guidelines for substitutions, material selections, and installation methods. The project involves expanding the existing military museum, with careful consideration for maintaining museum operations during construction and ensuring comprehensive documentation and high-quality execution of all project elements.
