About this file

This document is a Vendor Questions and Requiring Activity (RA) Answers file for solicitation MICC-FH-033557 concerning shock data recorders and accelerometers. The file addresses clarifications provided across two amendments to assist vendors in submitting compliant proposals. Key technical requirements clarified include: IP67 waterproofing rating is mandatory and critical due to environmental use conditions; the shock rating requirement is 500G minimum (not 50G); housing dimensions must be equal to or smaller than 2 inches by 2 inches by 2 inches; and the 9xGPS product does not meet the salient characteristics and therefore is not acceptable. The requiring activity confirmed this is a new contract with no incumbent vendor, and the devices are not aircraft control-related. Critically, the destination Free on Board (FOB) location is Fort Bragg, North Carolina, not Fort Hood, Texas as may have been initially assumed.

The solicitation is for test instrumentation sensors designed to measure impact shock and vibration forces during aerial delivery operations. Only new equipment is acceptable; refurbished or used items are rejected. Award will be made on a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) basis. Vendors must provide individual pricing for each item plus a total cost, with delivery costs listed as a separate line item. Military installation access is required, necessitating proper identification and credentials. Proposals must include the subject line format "SHOCK RECORDS - MICC-FH-033557 - (COMPANY NAME)." The contracting activity is the Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Hood.
