This is a memorandum from the Department of the Air Force, 14th Flying Training Wing (AETC) at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, establishing mandatory Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) safeguarding procedures for all contractors and subcontractors at any tier.

The memorandum, issued July 3, 2024, outlines five primary requirements for CUI compliance: (1) contractors and subcontractors with federal contract information in their information systems must have the contracting officer insert clause 52.204-21 (Basic Safeguarding of Covered Contractor Information Systems) into all solicitations and contracts; (2) all contractors with CUI access must complete Department of Defense mandatory CUI training from MyLearning before accessing CUI or within 30 days of assignment to Columbus Air Force Base, with training links attached to all Government Point of Entry solicitation postings; (3) contractors must sign and return the memorandum as acknowledgment of training completion prior to receiving any contract or contract materials classified as CUI; (4) contractors and subcontractors must notify the Contracting Officer of any improper CUI disclosure within 72 hours; and (5) improper CUI disclosure may result in recourse as determined by the 14th Contracting Squadron and Columbus Air Force Base Wing Information Protection Officer, including retaking CUI training, debarment from base, or contract termination. The memorandum requires signed acknowledgment on the provided signature page and includes an attachment regarding Contractor Initial CUI Training.
