1-7.4. Opportunistic Parts Marking (OPM) IUID Labels (Figure 1-3). In addition to the Damper Assemblies original nameplate, OPM IUID labels may be present. The OPM IUID label consists of one label. The label contains an ECC 200 compliant 2-D data matrix encoded with a Unique Identifier (UII) that is constructed/formatted IAW DoD Guide to Uniquely Identifying Items and MIL-STD-130 and is registered in the DoD IUID Registry.
1-7.5. Item Unique Identification (IUID) Data Plates (Figure 1-2). The IUID data plate provides MRI in an ECC 200 compliant 2-D data matrix that is encoded with a Construct 1 or 2 Unique Item Identifier (UII) using applicable Data Identifiers (DIs) or Text Element Identifiers (TEIs) as data qualifiers in accordance with MIL-STD-130 and is registered in the DoD IUID Registry.
a. Figure 1-2, Sheet 1 of 2, shows the IUID data plate format options for this component. The manufacturer IUID data plate format represents components originally UID-marked during production. The legacy IUID data plate formats represents components originally UID-marked post-production during an M&O event or in the field (commonly referred to as legacy components).
(1) Manufacturer IUID Data Plate. The IUID data plate may contain one or two 2-D data matrices. The
UID 2-D data matrix is encoded with a Construct 2 UII using DI or TEI data qualifiers 17V or CAG (manufacturer's CAGE code), 1P or PNO (original part number) and S or SEQ (manufacturer's serial number). A 30P or PNR (current part number) may also be encoded in a separate 2-D data matrix. as additional information. The 30P or PNR being the Sikorsky upon completion of the M&O event.
(2) Legacy IUID Data Plate. The data plate contains one 2-D data matrix encoded with a Construct 1 UII that uses TEIs, SPL (supplier's CAGE code) and UCN (supplier's unique component number) as data qualifiers. A PNR (current part number) is also encoded in a separate 2-D data matrix as additional information. The PNR being the Sikorsky upon completion of the M&O event.
1-7.6. IUID Data Plate Fabrication (Figure 1-2). The IUID data plate(s) are fabricated out of adhesive backed black matte polyacrylic material that meets the physical requirements per MIL-DTL-15024, Type L. The MRI and HRI shall be marked on the IUID data plate(s) using Laser Etch (App B, Table B-1), Thermal Transfer Printer or other acceptable marking technique in accordance with MIL-STD-130.
NOTE
Prior to fabrication of the IUID data plate(s), the DoD IUID Registry shall be queried per paragraph 3-7.1.
a. If the Damper Assembly is not registered in the DoD IUID Registry as determined by paragraph 3-7.1
(regardless of how the component is marked) and/or the UII data and component data does not match that in the registry record, IUID data plate(s) shall be fabricated in the format of Figure 1-2, Sheet 2 of 2, Option B.
(1) A Construct 1 UII shall be encoded into a 2-D data matrix using TEIs SPL (supplier's CAGE Code) and
UCN (supplier's Unique Component Number), IAW DoD Guide to Uniquely Identifying Items and/or MIL-STD-130 and registered in the DoD IUID Registry via the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) (App A, Websites) or The Army Maintenance Management System - Aviation/Maintenance Consolidated Database System (TAMMS-A/MCDS), Unique Identification (UID) database Damper Assembly. The UII can be constructed by the overhaul/repair facility using the overhaul facility's Enterprise Identifier (CAGE) SPL and UCN or the overhaul facility can generate an UII via AMCOM's TAMMS-A/MCDS, UID database (App A, Websites). The component's serially-managed manufacturer serial number shall not be used to develop the UII, but shall reside as HRI on the IUID data plate.

c. If the Damper Assembly has compliant IUID data plate(s) and the DoD IUID Registry record data matches data on the component (paragraph 3-7.1), but the IUID data plate(s) must be replaced due to damage and/or change to component data (e.g., part number roll, addition inspection code required, etc.), replacement IUID data plate(s) shall be fabricated in the format of Figure 1-2, Sheet 2 of 2, Options A or B, whichever is applicable.
(1) The recorded UII (paragraph 3-7.1) shall be encoded into an IUID 2-D data matrix. M&O of the component shall not change the UII. For Option B: The component's manufacturer serial number from the original nameplate shall reside as HRI on the IUID data plate.
(2) The second 2-D data matrix shall be encoded with the current Sikorsky part number using DI (30P) or
TEI PNR (current Part Number) as the data qualifier. The (30P) or PNR is the component's Sikorsky part number upon completion of the M&O event.
The verification for minimum print quality grade applies to compliant IUID data plates that have been removed and will be reapplied. For components having an compliant IUID data plate(s) that is installed (is not being removed during the M&O event), the IUID data plate(s) can remain on the component provided the 2-D data matrix passes a readability check per paragraph 1-7.7.g.
d. If the Damper Assembly has compliant IUID data plate(s); the UII is registered in the DoD IUID Registry and the registry record data matches the component data (paragraph 3-7.1); the IUID data plate(s) are undamaged; no data changes are required; the IUID data plate(s) can be reapplied to the component on which it was found at PSA, provided the MRI meets the verification requirement for minimum print quality grade per MIL-STD-130. If the 2-D data matrix does not meet the minimum grade requirements, replacement IUID data plate(s) shall be fabricated in the format of Figure 1-2, Sheet 2 of 2, Options A or B, whichever is applicable.
e. After fabricating IUID data plate(s), use a data matrix grader/verifier (App B, Table B-1) to verify that the
2-D data matrices have a minimum print quality grade per MIL-STD-130. Validate that data encoded in the 2-D data matrix matches HRI. If the 2-D matrix data failed minimum print quality grade, repeat the applicable marking process until the minimum print quality grade has been achieved.
1-7.7. IUID Data Plate Application.
