This document is a two-page postcard mailer from the City of Pittsburgh's Bureau of Environmental Services announcing a citywide blue recycling bin distribution program. The city plans to distribute over 100,000 blue recycling bins to residents, with each 32-gallon bin featuring a tight-fitting lid and accompanying information packet. The program aims to make curbside recycling in Pittsburgh plastic bag-free by 2023, with residents in various neighborhoods set to receive their bins in the coming weeks.

The initiative is part of a broader recycling improvement effort, as evidenced by the "Better Recycling. Better 'Burgh" slogan and partnership with The Recycling Partnership. Residents can obtain more information or request alternative options by dialing 311 or 412-255-2621, or by visiting the website pittsburghpa.gov/recycling-blue-bin-info. The program's materials emphasize community engagement and environmental sustainability, with the city's goal of modernizing and streamlining its recycling infrastructure through standardized bin distribution.
