1.3 General Tasks: Contractor shall perform preventative maintenance and repair services to include inspection, cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, testing, and the replacement of parts to ensure equipment is operational according to the manufacturer’s specifications and is operational at all times.

1.3.1 The contractor shall thoroughly inspect all equipment parts for deterioration, excessive wear, misalignment, loose joints, improper adjustments, or any other defects that affect machine operability, and correct them in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

1.3.2 Provide Monday through Friday On-Call support (0730-1630). The Contractor will receive a list of authorized callers from the Government Representative. The first attempt to troubleshoot will be via phone. If the situation cannot be corrected over the phone, the Contractor must be on-site by the next business day after the verbal or written approval by Government Representative. This on-site response will provide the opportunity to survey, troubleshoot, and identify or provide initial assessment of component, equipment, or part failure including their associated Conveyor system. In addition, the Contractor shall provide an initial course of action for resolving the identified or assessed failure and the timeline for service restoration and system repair.

1.3.2 The contractor shall use only new standard parts. The contractor shall be reimbursed for conveyor replacement parts that are defective, damaged, or beyond economical repair. In the event that cannibalization is a possible course of action, the contractor shall obtain prior approval from the Contracting Officer /Government Representative to remove parts

(cannibalize) from conveyor. Approval may only be given once the contractor provides detailed documentation stating that conveyor to be cannibalized has been determined to be non-repairable or uneconomical to repair. The

Contracting Officer / Government Representative will evaluate the estimated maintenance down time, the cost and shipping of potential cannibalized parts to be reused, and the financial benefit/hardship; in order to determine if it is in the best interest of the Government to perform this level of parts removal/replacement. The Contractor is not authorized to remove from non-repairable or uneconomical to repair conveyor without the approval of the

Contracting Officer / Government Representative.

1.3.2.2 Contractor shall invoice for parts at quarterly and shall provide original delivery tickets, sales slips, or other documents identifying items purchased, to be included with the invoice. Contractor will not be reimbursed without the supporting documentation.
