Question Answer
Will the government consider an alternate
Industrial Personal Protective Shirt?
The Government will allow for “button front closures” for industrial personal protective shirts. All other industrial personal protective shirt specifications (PWS para 3.4.1) remain the same.
Will the government consider an alternate
Industrial Personal Protective Pant?
The Government will NOT consider alternate specifications for Industrial
Personal Protective Pants.
Will the Government consider an alternate Arc Flash Personal Shirt?
The Government will allow for “100% cotton or other arc flash rated material” for arc flash personal protective shirts. All other arc flash personal protective shirt specifications (PWS para 3.4.2) remain the same.
A higher NFPA category rating is acceptable, but it is not required.
Will the Government consider an alternate Arc Flash Personal Pant?
The Government will allow for “100% cotton or other arc flash rated material” for arc flash personal protective pants. All other arc flash personal protective pant specifications (PWS para 3.5.2) remain the same.
A higher NFPA category rating is acceptable, but it is not required.
Will jackets be required for all 52 weeks, including the summer months?
Jackets will be retained by employees for all 52 weeks. However, per
PWS 3.9 Laundering, “the maximum laundering requirement for jackets will be approximately 30 weeks...”
Q&AS
Question Answer
What is the number of employees? The maximum number of employees anticipated for each period of performance for this requirement is 185 employees for industrial-type shirts and pants, 30 employees for arc flash shirts and pants, and 185 employees for personal protective jackets.
The Government determined the maximum quantities by the following calculations:
CLINs 0001AA/0002AA (and corresponding Option CLINs) –
185 employees * 5 industrial shirts/pants = 925 industrial shirts/pants * 52 weeks = 48,100 industrial shirts/pants
CLINs 0001AB/0002AB (and corresponding Option CLINs) -
30 employees * 5 arc flash shirts/pants = 150 arc flash shirts/pants * 52 weeks = 7,800 arc flash shirts/pants
CLIN 0003 (and corresponding Option CLINs) –
185 employees * 1 personal protective jacket = 185 personal protective jackets * 52 weeks = 9,620 personal protective jackets
How many/what days of the week are the employee’s working?
The employees work five days a week, Monday through Friday.
How many deliveries per week are needed for this clothing?
A minimum of one delivery/pick up per week is required.
