C. GENERAL INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS
(1) General Information
(a) The acceptance test procedure (ATP) is done on each auxiliary power unit engine. Satisfactory results of this procedure are required to return an engine back to service.
(2) Fuel and Oil Requirements
(a) Fuel and Oil
WARNING: JET FUEL IS TOXIC AND FLAMMABLE. DO NOT BREATHE
VAPORS. USE IN WELL-VENTILATED AREA FREE FROM
SPARKS, FLAME, OR HOT SURFACES. PUT ON SPLASH
GOGGLES, SOLVENT-RESISTANT GLOVES, AND OTHER
PROTECTIVE GEAR. IN CASE OF EYE CONTACT, FLUSH
WITH WATER FOR 15 MINUTES AND SEEK MEDICAL
ATTENTION. IN CASE OF SKIN CONTACT, WASH WITH SOAP
AND WATER.
1 The fuel used for these tests shall be (PN MIL-T-5624 Grade JP-5) or (PN MIL-T-83133 Grade JP-8).
WARNING: USE SYNTHETIC TURBINE OIL CORRECTLY. IT IS
FLAMMABLE AT HIGH TEMPERATURES AND IS MILDLY
POISONOUS. IT CAN HAVE A BAD EFFECT ON YOUR HEALTH
OR SAFETY. BEFORE YOU USE THE OIL, GET THE MATERIAL
SAFETY DATA SHEET FROM THE MANUFACTURER OR
SUPPLIER OF THE MATERIAL AND READ IT CAREFULLY.
READ THE DETAILED WARNING, W0126SE, IN THE WARNING
REGISTRY 341-006. BEFORE YOU USE THE OIL, PUT ON
CHEMICAL- SPLASH GOGGLES AND OIL-RESISTANT
GLOVES.
2 The lubricating oils used for these tests shall be (PN MIL-L-23699) or (PN
MIL-PRF-7808).
3 The fuel boost pressure shall be 5 to +15 psig ( 34.473 to 103.421 kPag).
(3) Dry Weight
(a) The dry weight of the engine assembly shall not be more than 151.93 lb (68.91 kg). The dry weight of each engine assembly shall be recorded. If the engine assembly dry weight is measured after the engine assembly has been serviced with fuel and oil, and after subsequent draining, the dry weight may be calculated by subtracting the weight of residual fluids from the measured engine assembly weight.
